yeah but the jump would have to be mad wierd for you do do it, more of a cliff type thing, and i would just put my hand down and do like a handplant haha it would be easier that way.
my friends and i had a dbate about if it could be done because one of my friends was trying to do corks off like a 7ft jump and we couldnt tell if he was doing only doing a cork 180 or a cork 540. now that i know it can be done i think he was doing a cork 180
garret, it definately wasnt a cork 1. First off ian was waaaa y too inverted for it to be a cork. It was more like a bio, it was pretty much a backflip. And 2nd, he's spinning really fast and he spins while hes doing the backflip then days a 180. Give me your camera and i'll edit it and get it up on NS so NS can decide.
i doubt ur friend did it off a 7 ft jump you need alotttt of air, and its not really mistakable for a cork 5 at all. laurent favre does one in NASM over that step up where hes like 4 inchs above the ground for a bit, yea they are def pos
that wasnt corked. his leags were just sideways. ITS COMPLETLEY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO A TRUE CORK 180. the reason cork 3s work is cuz you spin on multiple axis. you dont actually reverse the rotation. to do a cork 180 you would have to have a total reverse or rotation direction. you cant do that.. you can get sideways and pray that you dont hit your face upon impact, but that only looks cool until you land.
It isn't possible because it defeats the whole definition of what cork is. Honestly, argue all you want but it isn't possible. Even if you pull a 180 and manage to get your feet above your head and back down again, it's not cork.
haha i made a joke about doing one at camp to turpin and he kept telling us how he used to do them. he said" its all about the arm thrust" or sumtin like that. he said he would go up set it cork, grab tru nose then slam his shoulder down and "stomp it clean" hahaha hes crazy
i agree you can not do a cork 180 because even if you did get your whole body sideways and somehow got your legs back under you and landed, you just did a wicked leaned back 180 and landed on your tips because the cork didnt come around with a spin it is just like moving your legs up and down. so not possible at all!
My buddy and I did a few last season. If you carve into to the jump really hard it can be done. I mean go way far to the side of the take-off (during the in run) and then carve back into the take-off. The problem comes with the landing. It's hard to get you body back enough to land. So many times I drove my tips into the landin. Also make sure the landing is very wide. If you dont carve off the jump so you end up taking off in a straight line (perpendicular to the take off) you will travel far laterally.
