i got some pretty sick stuff on sale which was all i could afford its the lime green burton ronin pant with a red 686 jacket..i thinks its sick and o have nothing wrong with it...what do you kids think?

The only reason this happens is because ski clothing companies aren't stepping up to the plate and providing anything but t-shirts, hoodies, and standard outerwear.

DC runs ads in snowboard magazines that say keep ski tips up and away from the park
Walk into Burton's headquarters in Burlinton. Look at the glass window on the left, it says skiers keep out.
Volcom ran posters last year of one of their snowboarders dropping a cliff over a bunch of snowplowing skiers in one pieces

Do all snowboarding companies hate skiing - no. Take a look at Lib Tech, they are actually making skis. But anyone who pays the slightest bit of attention to snowboarding culture realizes that some companies and people really don't like us.

the only board company i would not wear is anything underr the burton division, they are like the new NIKE... but i think its fine, does anyone else think its sorta funny though when u see a boarder wearing Orage or Siver stuff?

Nothing wrong with wearing a snowboarding vendor. Burton clothing is awesome, real good quality stuff, same for 686 and sessions.
Just wear what you want, as long as it isn't a Members Only, Jeans or Starter jacket. Ha.

Meh alot of snowboard companys are starting to cater more to skiiers too. Like anon for example, burton-based but sponsering skiiers. I guess its not any different than Rossignol and K2 making snowboards. I got into the whole industry discussion earlier. Its reallly one big industry anyway. Snow industry. Wear what you like, what makes you comfortable...and if someone gives you shit, it just shows how lame they are.

WOW! I am kind of baffled by this. I disagree with almost everyone. Hear me out please, because I support ALL snowsports and have no beef with boarders at all! I ride with many, but not in their clothes.
PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT OUR FUTURE
1) Snowboard companies have the dopest stuff right now because they have money from support (monitarily) from snowboarders
2) Skiing clothing could reach that level but needs the monetary support of YOU (buy the shit that is dope SIVER/ORAGE/etc and their outerwear will evolve beyond or equal to the level of 686 etc, I promise).
3) Money that goes into snowboarding goes into growing THEIR sport (rail jams for THEM, contests for THEM, mags/vids for THEM)
I could go on forever, but will let that sit with you. I used to feel the way you all do about rocking snowboard gear, but then I realized that I want skiing to grow and have TONS of dope outwear, gear, clothes, etc that I can wear and know I helped grow our sport and those who take your dollar and put it right back into making next years stuff better!

Thats a spun theory. I disagree hugely. It doesn't cost money to get an idea. If a ski company were to make product with some quality shit in it I'd be all over that. They dont though. So I still rock Burton outerwear regardless. The quality is there and their shit looks dope.

No, but it does cost money to integrate that idea, and that requires monetary support of their target audience.
Additionally, for a company to push the limits on design they have to have a brand that people trust and BUY. They cannot attain that overnight, they have to have basic stuff people will all like and then they can do some crazy shit that keeps them on the cutting edge. Some may like the crazy shit some may not. Money affords that luxury. Money comes from customers buying the brand. If skiers all buy snowboard outerwear, how can any outwear brand targeted to skiers survive? Also why would they try if skiers jsut want to buy snowboard gear?
Finally, are you saying Orage (a ski company) doesn't make quality shit? Why would you not be all over them? Siver too they still need to tweak the waterproofing. "If a ski company were to make product with some quality shit in it I'd be all over that." Seems like an un-true statement to me.
