I dont like it, because I dont know whats going on around me. I lose my hearing, and I am not full aware, so I am more likely to cause an accident.

I love to ski with music, helps me get into the groove, pumps me up while going down the hill.
I only like to listen to it while riding though, chillin at the top of the hill or waiting for people at the bottom I don't listen. Not going up the chair either, I like to talk to people doing that.

got the sony h.ear headphones for skiing. cheap, dispensable, comfy as hell, good SQ, and they hang off your ears, so when your talkin to people, you just kinda hang um out, and push um in when you head downhill. they are money. i got MDRV700s too, but those are such a pain to ski/talk to people, i rarely break um out.

I have a deep burning hatered toward the little ass-hole that rides around the mountain, with the backpack with the speakers in it and plays limp bizkit all the time. I want to rip it off his back and beat him with it.

I believe it is Sessions who have developed a solution to this which I think is bloody genius... they have pockets for you to put your headphones in inside your hood that end up roughly next to your ears so you can hear your music, but not plugging them, so you can still hear what's going on around you to some extent, like if someone's talking to you. However, this obviously falls a bit short if you wear a helmet.
