i think i'm coming. i'm way stoked, but am curious about the set up and conditions. Anyone have any details about the format for the rail jam and big air?
The conditions of the park is actually pretty sick considering the weather we've had. The jump isnt going to be the main park jump, they are gonna build one closer to the lodge.
As of now the rail jam is going to consist of 2 runs through the rail line. There will be a judge around each set of rails with a score sheet. Each rail has its own point scale (ex. Down flat down would be a 10, beginner box would be lower). Then you would be rated according to that point scale depending on how technical the trick is. The judges will definatly understand what is technically and what a 270 on 270 off is. Should be a good time always is.
THE BIG AIR WINNER GETS A MOUNTAIN DEW VENDING MACHINE!!
yeah, for shure. snowtrails events are always an absolute blast. even if your not competing or competing seriously, its worth the trip, just for the awesome atmosphere it brings. its just a good time, and a great vibe. i cant wait.
it's usually about 50 feet. sometimes it's a little longer, sometimes it's a little shorter. if i was a gamblin' man, i would bet on it being a bit short of 50 feet, on account of the tropical storm we have recieved over the past week.
for anyone that does come, we are having a HUGE after party in the lodge house next door to the resort, and when i say next door, i mean walking distance from the bar at snowtrails. Shit is going to be off the hook....bring your green hat.
you are allowed in the bar for the awards no matter how old/young you are. however, they will start to kick people out once the winners have been announced. don't fret, the afterparty has no age limit, and is sure to be a fantastic time!
