Broken STL 183

This isnt due to any craftman ship of 4frnt skis. I was goin 9 yesterday and fractured my tip down to the core, we tryin to fix it with p-tex and superglue, but im not sure if thats going to hold up. Im just curious whether you guys think I should get an identical pair (red plaid) for 400, or keep riding the busted ones, or ride my bros msp's 180, which would be a big change cause the msp's are much stiffer, thanks for any help.

i talked to sturbenz and he said warranty doesnt cover em if you brake them skiing on them.

Wow what the fuck would they warrenty then??? Some noob drops them in the parking lot they wont snap.

well like it has to be craftman ship problems, like de laminateing, or something like that, i dont know i didint really understand it either, but i guess it doesnt cover broken skis

"4FRNT Skis, LLC warrants to the Original Purchaser our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase. We will repair or replace the product if, upon inspection, we find the product to be defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, negligence, impact, repairs or alterations outside of our facility, or improper mounting of bindings. Specifically, our warranty does not cover: impact damage caused by rails, boxes, rocks, stumps or any other contact with a surface other than snow, scratches, chips, cosmetic blemishes or indentations on the topsheet, sidewalls, edges or bases, and damage to the ski caused by improper mounting or adjustment of bindings, including binding mountings pulling out of the ski."

So since it broke against snow you should be ok I would think.

just because it's a two year warranty doesn't mean it's the best in the biz. even if they do find your ski to have a manufacturer defect they'll still only give you the "depreciated value" upon warranty. which basically means you'll get a new pair of skis but you'll have to shell out X amount of dollars still.

I'm saying I think you ought to be. It states the warrenty is voided if damaged from rails, glades shit (rocks or stump impact etc..), or skied urban. The damage is from the ski smacking snow, so it should be covered.

my legal document reading isn't perfect, but basically how that warranty reads in legalese is if you accidently break your skis they aren't covered by warranty. so basically it just comes down to they only have to warranty if they feel like it. and i have yet to hear of someone warrantying a pair. luckily mine have held up really well.

True, its written pretty vaguely as you could argue the STL are park specific ski and that you don't always stick the 9.

So ya, I guess it depends if they wantto hook you up. At least it seems a good deal of these new companies are willing to send people new skis to keep em happy and earn a good rep.

Epoxy might work though. P-Tex only bonds with p-tex i think. not with other stuff.

dont get last years STLs. honestly, they are pretty poopy. sterbenz is a good guy, and he has always helped me out with my issues with 4frnts. talk to him over the phone, and tell him whats up. even if they dont replace them, im almost positive they will sell you a new pair at or below proform (250). this years stl is a phenominal ski, and its worth getting, even if you do have to shell out a bit of cash (250 isnt much at all). but if you call him up and are cool about it, they will prolly hook you up with some new sticks, or at least they should, as these skis are built to withstand the abuse of terrain park skiing.
