hey so I'm looking into some new skis and was looking toward the 1080 guns from solomon, i get that they are just the pocket rockets but with a new skin. But if anyone has specialty info on their performance I would much appreciate.
i just got my guns this week. i have to say they are softer than i thought they would be but im pleased with them. they are wider than foils. they are a powder ski so they are a little stiff in the tail. the sidecuts are a little bit less than a foil which is surprising. i love the ski. light, wide, and fun. seem fast as well.
foil is wider in the tip than the gun (at least in the 182) but 3mm thinner in the waist. I'm not sure why the gun having less side cut is suprising, it's a powder ski, sidecut = bad in pow. The foil is a great carver. As to the gun being wider, i may be mistaken but i believe it is the exact same size as previous pocket rockets.
the guns are 2mm smaller at tip and tail. also the tips are rounded instead of the squared off look of the foil. the foil is anywhere from 3-7mm more narrow. and the turn is smaller in the 165 size but about .5m larger in the sizes up. sorry for the misinfo.
