Yesterday I was abducted and robbed at gunpoint with my roomate. I go to school in Tempe, AZ at ASU, and at 2 in the afternoon my roomate and I were waiting for the bus at the curb when two guys came up from behind us with guns while a car pulled up. The one guy said we have guns and they are real get in the car (this was retarded for me to do btw.) And theres some girl driving the car.
So, im like holy shit. It's one of those things where you have no idea what you'll do until it happens, but since I'm stupid and got in the car I figured I'd try to cooperate so I could get out of there. So anyways, I'm in the passenger seat, roomate behind me with the two guys and the car rolls off towards. They tell me to stare at the dashboard, give them my wallet, keys, and phone. Both my roomate and I have debit cards so at gunpoint they had us write down our pin numbers and account balances (I had 40.00 haha, to which they said I know we shouldnt have robbed kids at a bus stop). Meanwhile the cars heading to the worst ghetto in Phoenix (think Mexico meets South Central).
So, Im just like fuck I might die. I was all like I'll give you anything you need I just want to get out of here but they kept saying shut up, f you etc. So, they pull up to Bank #1 and with us in the car the girl goes in and clears out my card at an ATM. Id hop out of the car in the parking lot but I can't leave my friend behind which was the worst part because there was no way to coordinate leaving.
Then we go to Bank #2 and the woman does the same to my roomate's card, but when she comes out she's like you lied to me. So I'm like oh shit tell the truth because I don't want these people pissed. My roomates like, well how much did you get out? "120 dollars" And hes like well I told you I had 100-110. "Oh, ok nevermind." Oh and meanwhile theres a gun to the back of my head which sucks with a guy telling me to make my friend tell the truth.
So, I'm like are we done, but the guys found another credit card in my friends wallet. They ask him how to get money out of it, but he doesnt know because its for emergencies from his dad and he hasn't used it. So for the next hour they threaten to kill us unless he can figure it out, but finally he does after several tries.
We are still in a bad area btw. The car pulls up to an abandoned corner and the guys say we're going to let you out, get out of the car and stare at the ground or we'll kill you. My roomate is a dumbass and asks how we're supposed to get home. They're like good luck like have fun you white kids hah. So, we get out of the car, stare at the ground and they drive away.
Somehow we survive walking around for 30 min or so haha and find a bus that's going to Tempe. Meanwhile we're both without wallets, cell phones, laptops, backpacks, keys, everything. The bus driver took us back to Tempe and we went straight to our bank, called the cops and cancelled our accounts.
So, I'm without:
cell phone
laptop
all class notes
wallet, Drivers Lisc., insurance, etc.
house, car keys (they had my address)
Basically it's a pain in the ass, but one of the cops said 90% that get in the car end up getting killed so Im like thank god. Getting a gun pointed at you is a trip, and not knowing if they'll just kill you when you're done made for the longest afternoon of my life.
So, by cooperating did I do it right, or do you take your chance and fight on the street or try to take control in the car? I dont know, but I think it's time to go to Cali and ski.
