holy shit... most uninformed and ignorant comment of the year. First off, to even say that the environmental groups are paying off the media is so far from the truth that it's laughable. Environmental groups have no money, and what little they do is going to make a difference. However, the huge industries all have hundreds of lobbyists, and provide ludicrous amounts of money to fund one sided studies that are absolute jokes. State of Fear is the biggest piece of shit ever, it's one writer that decided that he was more intelligent than the vast majority of the best climate scientists in the world (who have devoted their lives to studying these things.) Chrichton then simply quoted and drew arguements from the bullshit studies paid for by big industry.

Have some idea of what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

Finally, I believe that while global warming is a serious problem, it is not as big as our energy crisis. Most estimates say that demand will greatly exceed supply within the next twenty years, causing a huge energy and economic crash. If we work on finding alternate forms of energy before it's too late, then most of this can be prevented, and this progress will go hand in hand with reduced greenhouse emissions. Of course, unless we stabilize the rampant population growth soon, none of this will matter.

Yea its january and its beeen raining in NY, it rained on christmas day. This has not happened before a couple years ago. People think of a white christmas but now all we get it a wet one. Global warming is happening.

i recently skied at a glacier in austria and there was a report on it a little whil ago that it is starting to melt....on the way up theres a lot of water falls and stuff which r signs of melting so id say its affecting skiing

It was the Bush administration that admitted to editing and censoring scientific reports to add ambiguity and speculation to otherwise solide arguments for global warming. To qoute POPULAR SCIENCE (I believe it is the editors letter from August 2005) Out of all the scientific studies on global warming from the last few years, ALL OF THEM agreed global warming was happening.

Weather your certain location is getting warmer is irrelevant. Look at how much one little ocean current fucks up our systems (El Nino).
Look at polar ice caps (melting), look at severe weather. Its all there and there is little to no doubt in the scientific community that it is happening. It is NOT a normal cycle.

i saw some pic that showed the same exact shot of some glacier in the artic. And now 1 year later it is completly melted and its all hot and has trees growing and shit

no thats the truth, the global tempature has only gone up about 1 degree in the last 140 years, that means that its not affecting skiing right now but in another couple hundred years its gonna suck for whoever lives here unless we start trying to stop it
