Are k2 seth vicious good for alaskan skiing?

Hi guys , i got a seriuìous question for everyone is a good backcountry skier.
I'm planning to go to Alaska for a few days.
I'm got a pair of K2 seth vicious 180.
My question is...do you think they can be a good ski for Alaska or should i consider to buy something different (stiffer) for that kind of
terrain?
I'm 5.8 height, 150 lbs weight.
Don't answer me that seth morrison use the same skis, 'couse I'm not so sure that seth has a standard ski, but like most of pro they have skis made just
for them.
Any help and advice qill be appreciated

dude, are u serious? u dont think the seth vivious is a legitimate big mtn ride? yea,seth morrison uses these skis,there his. they will handle bigger/wilder terrain than you can, so yea they will be fine in AK

by 180 you mean 189 right? or 179? and thier are no skis more capable of handling big mountain shit then then the seth v's . most badass ski in a while. the ski plows over everything

Sometimes I just don't understand peoples questions. I am sure that you will be fine with the SV in Alaska, but if you are willing to buy another ski, then get a longer/fatter swallow tail like the Volkl Sanouk, or the Salomon AK Rocket.

take it from me dude. thosell be just fine. your probably skiing our good resort here Alyeska. weve been having a ABSOLUTLY shitty snow year, but its picking up. i ride pistols and their a dream. soft enough for powder and soft snow, yet when im really pushing them hard, they dont chatter. contradictary to what people think, our resort and terrain is just ok. i mean, we almost always get kick ass snow, and our terrain is awsome, its just small. its like any other normal western resort, just add some inches. theyll be fine. good mix of stiffnes and softness. hit me up, ill ride with you if you can keep up

How many of u has ever been in AK ???
all of you talk as if he has been plenty of time....not very sure about there.
My question is quite seriuos coise maybe using a differten skis (LIKE VOLANT SPATULA for example) would be more appropiate for AK. and by the way i'm quite sure that seth skis are not like the one you buy at the shops. Have you ever tested a ski made for a pro race skier and the same they sell in shops?? they are completely different

^ dude, i used to live in AK. and i was just back there this winter. shitty snow year like AKfreerider said. but yes, it is picking up, they were getting like 6-7inches a night during the week i was there. and no, no need for spatulas, less he is doing some heli skiing, and even then, the snow sucks this year, he wouldnt need them.

yeah, the SV's are money for AK, no matter what. resort or backcountry, they will kill it for you.

ok, seeing as im from alaska i know what im talking about...first of all, if ur going to alyeska there fine...if u go to turnagain or hatchers pass they will be fine..pretty much enywere should be fine...if ur gunna be bombing like 2000 veritical feet in 3-4 turns then u might want to sheck some ANT pro models but u should be fine on those

not to completely rag on you my man, but you are soooo wrong its funny. you know nothing about AK except for what you see in movies and magazines. and thats big mountain, steep, spines, hardcore gnar.

but unless this guy is rollin in the benjamins and is going heli skiing, hes not going to ride the stuff you think AK is.

like i said earlier, if hes riding our resort, Alyeska, its just like any other resort. seriously, its the same as any other western resort except more focused on part racing, and part freeriding.

the widest ski you need up here is really like 100. you could go 110. but really, you could float rossie odonll on a pair of 110's. yea we have kick ass deep snow and a shit load of it, but you dont need a super fat to float you. if you go to popular BC spots here, youll get probably up to your waist on a good day, and then floatin in like 4 inches any other day. so yea, a 90 would work the majority of the time.

i just got pissed cus we do have huuuuge mountains everywhere and lots of snow, but to get to the top of that stuff, not have it collapse on you, and repeat laps of it without a heli is insane.

oh and this guy knows what hes talking about. coming from AK, im glad hes not someone who pretends to know what theyre talking about. hes right, the seths are dreams up here, perfect float, not much chatter.

if your doing maaajor runs, youll want something bigger and stiffer, but i doubt they will. this man speaks the truth.

so I watched this movie the other day, I think it was called WAR or something simmiler. well any way their was this one skier, named seth morison I think. He was on the vicious and they seemed to sute hime fine. so I think youll be ok.

personally, id rather sink in a little bit in my powder that i worked for. although now that i think about it, prohpet 100s are my dream ski, so yea, depends which prophet.

Sorry guys, maybe i was not enough clear.
I got 179 Seth vicious, (not 189). And my trip would be in HAINES (AK) just for heliskiing.
Some friends of mine went there last year and they did something like 45 runs in 12 days.
Just heli. that's why i was asking if the skis are appropiate (not just the construction but the lenght over all)
Someone told me also to carry another pair of ski just in case of breaking one) So if i have to buy another one what should i buy? Another SV 179 or 189, or a differet ski (Line mothership 4frnt vct) ????

if your skiing purely like pow and big mountain, rent the 190's while your up here. if your skiing resort and that stuff, ride the 180's.

if the heli skiing company is legit, which all are up here, then theyll have backup skis ready or on the ground. its not like you break em and your trips done. and i would go for the 189 maybe, im to lazy to look, but im 5'10 and the 179 is a perfect all mountain, and the 189 im only assuming would mean more float and more stability, therefor making it a better pow and big mountain ski. but yea, good luck, you fucking rich motherfucker. i live in alaska, and either have to pay for a lift ticket, or skin for my turns. fuck nigga, im striaght up poe.

That's fuccking true...it will cost a huge amount of money....but i wanna do it. I'm a little bit scared couse i know that haines is one of the most "hardcore" place around!
I also made up my mind, i'll go with Made'n ak 189 or the Jp vs Julian 188.
depends on the better deal.
Ak freeride if you have any advice....go for it
