libtech is making skis. and burton owns anon, and red helmets, and both of those companies sponsor skiers. so i dont see why they couldnt at least make a brand name that they could sell skis through. its just another way to get new technology in the ski world.
and the people saying that "if burton made skiing outerwear i would wear it" and that kinda shit, can you tell me what the hell the difference is between skiing outerwear and snowboarding outerwear?
How does that have anything to do with caring about the future of skiing?
If anything, it will make the sport better. There are kids out there now that either:
#1 - Don't know enough about skiing to get envolved.
or
#2 - Can't afford to get involved with skiing.
Who knows, that kid could be the next greatest skier ever. And if Burton pushed skiing as well, i think you'd notice an increase in the number of skiers. NOW, I know the next thing someones going to say is: "I don't want skiing to become a big corporate sport so all of these gapers are clogging up the parks and the rest of the mountain." You guys need to look at a sport like skateboarding. Years and years ago, it was tightly knit kinda like ours. But then it became popular and more companies got involved, and tony hawk helped to market it. And look how far it's progressed. It's a give and take. If you want fast progression, you need a sport to grow.
And if you still want to be pissed at burton, then be that way. And don't forget... we're the ones that started the old rivalry... ski resort owners hated on them and wouldn't let them in.
And you act like they hated on newschool specifically. Back then we were barely anything at all... they hated on skiing as a whole.
