yeah ive heard that 2 i think they are...id buy some pants...maybe a jacket but im in love with my ripzone and i also have orage pants so maybe next year
nah i think just outerwear... they already do it all anyway just gotta market more towards skiers - i doubt they would try and reinvent the wheel by making skis - but with burton you never know i guess.
if burton made skis they would officiallly be sell-outs. For years they had this huge anti-ski image. And as much as i like burton jackets and pants, would never buy skis made by them, itd feel to weird for me.
If Burton stepped up to the plate and got into the ski industry, it would be huge for the winter sports world. I think it would help to bring skiers and boarders together.
I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't be pissed off if orage sponsored snowboarders or something. It's rediculous to be so "core" like that. I ride with boarders a lot. I just bought a burton jacket, and I like it a lot. Who the hell cares. I don't see the big deal about the whole skiing vs. snowboarding thing.
they would probably make a seperate ski brand so that they could still have the anti-ski image associated with their main brand without looking like hypocrits
i still would never buy burton skis...there graphics would look like the snowboards i ebt and it would be to similar...i donno its like Line making snowboards all of a sudden
word...i wear a ton of burton shit...its really really nice...alos i ski with only snowboarders so i dont think them making skis would have a negative impact cept a lot of people wouldnt buy them....if they were nice i would
he like owns the whole snowboarding industry already so maybe hes sick of that and wants to try something new. burton stuff is pretty sick though. some cheap, durable, cool looking stuff. sounds sick though
taht would be cool i guess. i saw a kid today that snowboarded and had a siver jacket on. i told him nice jacket and asked him if he knew what siver was and he told me that they are a ski company so i think it kinda goes both ways.
Just to let you all know, Jake Burton doesn't give a shit about his company (what was his company) He doesn't do anything about it anymore. Burton is all that is wrong with snowboarding and skiing. Corporatizing the ski industry is what smaller board companies like Never Summer and Palmer are trying so hard to fight against. Forum was one of those companies who pledged to being independent and uncorporate, but a few years after they started they sold out to Burton. Burton boards are sold at Dick's sporting goods...What the fuck is that. Seriously, so many kids own burton shirts , Jackets, Pants, Boards, T-Shirts, ETC.
I for one will never buy or suppourt anything by such a sell-out corporate company who has no interest in snowboarding. My aunt's sister is very good friends with Jake Burton, and I have met him. He's a decent guy. He hired the wrong people and THEY control his company. He doesn't give a shit. I really hope Burton doesn't ruin skiing for us.
why would they be weird, burton already has some cool graphics for boards, and burton already makes skis, just not under their name. i cant remeber what ski company pays them to press their stuff, i think it was line or sompthing i could be wrong though. anyways, burton skis wouldnt be all that bad.
agreed, i wouldn't represent a snowboard company if i was skiing.....its not like i have anything against boarders but i think skiiers should be helping out ski companies.
you gotta be shitting me, I would. I think there snowboards are soo progressive. Look at the damn dominant, I dont care about the graphics. They have plastic edges, do you know how awsome that would be for rails. The side cut, everything. Soo sick. but yeah....... nice skis they would be.....to me.
not many places to get outerwear from ski companys ut we do have a mainly snowboard and skate store that i got my pants from...burtons got dece jackets and pants
welll i for one agree it would be going wayyyy against the burton image and the whole " we stand sideways" lines but i also agree for burton it would be a good move- look how many skiers rock burton or red or anon shit already when its accepting to the ski culture they will own everyone not just snowboarding which pretty much already is stongly represented by burton and its riders and if they made skis fuck yea they be dope think about two dominants under ur feet...
i think any step that anyone takes to push skiers and boarders together is a good one, nothing is gayer than a stupid rivalry and nothing is more fun than a ski and snowboard "progression session." on a certain rail or hit in the park. The two even though some might not like it should have more respect for each other.
Also burton outerwear is sick, have a ronin and prolly gonna get some pants from there too.
You're just way too core for the rest of us. Burton makes some of the most quality shit around. Better than shit like Siver. And for around the same price too. And it's less expensive than DNA or Orage. Does it really matter where Burton stuff is sold??? When I buy ski clothes I look for 4 things in order:
