How many skis are necessary?

I saw pics of some setups where they had like four pairs of twins. I can understand like different racing or powder skis, but is it that beneficial to have so many pairs of skis? Do you go that often? Enlighten me, I am all ears.

Depends on the money you have. I only have one pair but 2 would be ideal: One pair on the so-so days that are mid-fat ie. Scratch Bc. And a pair for booter and powder,ie. Gotama. there, that's my dream line up since we don't have a park.

a park ski
pow ski
pipe and jump ski that doesnt touch rails
and an urban ski
so thats four skis but whatever

I have 3 pairs...but only 2 are really nessisary depending where you live...
Eastcoast- 1 pair of crappy cheap one for urban, and one for park all mountain...
Westcoast-1 pair of wide skis for powder/park, and a pair for the park/urban.
I have been lucky enough to get 3 pairs of skis...but i honestly only need 1 pair.

WOW! I consider it a great year if I get 20 days in the season. I guess thats why I only use one pair of skis.

Where I live, there is no bc, no powder, and no urban unless you want to ski on cement or dirt.

Well, I understand wanting and/or having skis for all the different purposes. BUT, do you take all three or four with you to the mountain? Like, if I am up skiing, I want to hit rails, then some jumps, maybe powder if we have it (which is rare) and I want to carve all the time. So do you guys go to the car and switch skis everytime you decide to go to the park or hit some rails?

I have 2 skis. my old skis, and my new skis. they get to serve dual purpose, park, pow, all mountain, urban, looking cool. . . all that good shit.
Just ski for christs sake, if you can get more skis, then rock on.
All times are Eastern (-5)
