when i start my spin when i initiate it i kinda look over my shoulder and down which throw off my spin because i cant see where i am and i always land backseat...anybody else have this problem?..i know to fix it i just need to practice more but if anybody else has it what did they do to not do it anymore?
I used to have it but spinning slower off larger jumps really helps. I don't even look over my shoulder anymore with spins I'm comfortable doing. I just kind of look down.
i suck at spinning. my friend whoes nice though once gave me a good tip which got me doing better threes. if you spin to the left, when you throw your right arm across your body to start the spin pretend like there's something out in front of you your trying to swipe at, something like on the landing of the jump. this keeps your shoulders up and square which keeps your head up and you spin on a more level axis.
yea i spun my first 5 by doing that and not winding both my arms up...i def helps a lot..i just need to try to look straight and work on it for a while
Wow that is horrible advice. All you have to do it keep your head up for the first 180 of ur jump then u can look, move your arms, or whatever and it wont do shit. It all starts in the first 180 of the spin.
learn with your hips. Spin with your hips and you will progress so much faster. When you spin with your hips your core is much more centered, so when you get into dspins and cork stuff you will have a much easier time. Also when you spin with your hips this allows you to grab, while if you spin with your arms, its two motions your making.. one to spin and the other to grab... ITS ALL IN THE HIPS!!!
Haha oh man, thanks for the laugh, dude i have never heard a joke about someones mother, well ever! You are just so cleaver aren't you? Aren't you?? You are just so cleaver and witty! I just wish i could be you, so i could win that award, and just have that cleaverness and wittyness that you have! Oh my aren't you just cleaver!
yeah i dont really look down, but i ride dry slope and we have one kicker, its a whippy kicker so quite steep but the landings reallly steep so you have to change ur axis like 120degrees just to land , any tips on stopping me landing back seat, for example i always do it when spinning grabbing true tail
i think u have the same problem i had...like exactly...if u havnt already figured it out....heres what i figured out....id dint realize as i was going up the jump ur already off axis...so when most people try to start there spins there first time or there first couple times they naturally try spinning across the body i guess u could say....there body is already at an angle so when u through the spin ur landing position is already predetermind....backseat....but if ur coming up to the jump u kinda lean forward into it and throw it so that u throw it level with flat ground then ull float it perfectly...try it on like a 12-15 foot table...i figured it out one day at another mountain and i been trhowin them straight ever since....except for the other day wehn my friend cut in front of me and through me off balance....that sucked balls....luckily i was in the mini park lol so i didnt die...ill make a diagram of what im talking about if its hard to understand
and also a problem if you always land back seat is that you could be hucking it too much, what i mean is that you wind up and throw your arms which can also result with lose of control in the air, and uncontrolled spins.
yea i think i def wind up too hard too. the 5 that i threw that actually felt good was with almost no wind up. instead of winding up both arms i just kinda threw my right arm to the left. worked good for me
^ Last time I checked... It helps. Haha, I used to try to do that but everytime I'd try, they'd catch and I would just fall onto my back. Give it a try though... Like lean forward wicked off the jump almost to the point of a nose butter and see what happens.
