is it like a ski wee program...with lunch halfway thru?....just do bootwork first then move to doing one ski then two and so forth...do the shit you learned in hiring clinics...some of the kids can be chill so that makes it go a little faster..and they are older so they should pick things up quicker...

Dude, just take them skiing. Figure out their levels, and take runs accordingly. Have them practice keeping their skis together, pole planting, maybe some jumping or something. They are kids and they are skiing, they don't know shit so just act like you know what you're doing.

yeah dude i teach too. if theyre complete noobs use pizza (snowplow) and hot dog (straight skis) so they learn how to stop. and help em click into bindings, be like squash the big bug with ur heel and shit like that. and bring gummy bears to reward them wen they do something good.

I had 7 hr lessons for a whole season with kids aged 5-8. It was rad though by the end of the season they were straightlining black diamonds and stuff. All they ever wanted to do was jumps, so thats what we did...Very little boring instruction....Learning for kids is mostly just about mileage, they rarely listen to what you tell them, so just ski a lot, talk a tiny bit.

im an instructor too. i used to alsays be stuck on the bunny hill teaching kids how to pizza and snowplow. now i get to teach more advanced kids, we ski park pretty much all day
a couple of tips:
1)make it fun. really try hard to make it fun for the kids, be really energetic and play lots of games. itll make the time go by faster, and then the kids go home and tell their parents how much fun skiing was, and then u'll get a good rep and maybe some tips. even if it doesnt seem like your teaching them too much, but theyll remember more if its taught in a fun way, rather than a boring way
2) Get to know all theyre names, and call them by them. then they fell like theyre your friend and will usulyy listen better.
3) even if theyre really shitty skiers, always compliement them on what theyre doing right. then theyll be more confident.

yeah great idea, i normally do boot work for the first 6 or 7 hours and then get them to put one ski on for the next few hours.. whatever you do, if it is your first day, do not let them put BOTH SKIS ON AT THE SAME TIME. this could lead to some possibly LIFE THREATENING danger. just remember to have fun and don't touch their front-bums.

and maybe on their third day put BOTH SKIS ON AT ONCE, and if they get the hang of it, so forth... aka three skis.

If they are kids just make sure they have fun - otherwise they will hate you. They will love it if they have fun and learn much faster than if you start commanding techniques. Just go in there with a few skiing games in mind and it'll be a breeze!

i teach to....if there like never evers....just play like duck duck goose for awhile...and if anybody asks why they ar eplaying the game instead of learning to ski...you say....im having them get used to walking in their boots by playing a game... then u can prolly do the same with 1 ski....and then 2....that should waste a good 2 hours depending on how much they like the game duck duck goose...tag works too...

once you get them in there skis and moving around. its all repitition espessially with a group that old. just have them play follow the leadr down the bunny slope the rest of the day

For starters divide them in 2 groupsj and play races to see wich group wins, do that in boots, with one ski, and boath, that will get you throu an hour, at least. They can allso play tag, and whenever one is it, he has to swigh his ski...
than procede slowly to stoping, and while your on the bunny slope use cones or ski poles to mark the places to turn, or set them up a course where they have to duck, jump over, turn around poles and stuff... dont bother them with poles for the first 2 days
good luck

whatever you are doing, make it fun. Improvise and have fun, because if you aren't having fun then the kids will not want to ski anymore and probably want to try something like snowboarding (AHHHH) just kidding but seriously if the kid has fun and talks his parents ear off about how much fun they had then that child will usually be brought back to have private lessons by you and the more lessons they get, the better skier they are and the better skier they get to be the less work you have to do! So its all about fun, letting them get the feel for it on their own terms a bit, letting them push themselves, pushing them a bit and trying new things. And one other thing, if you are trying to get them to do something and they can't do it, think of another way to accomplish it and fast! A single method for learning to parallel ski is not going to work for everyone, or even if it isnt working to parallel, you've got to see what they are doing and help them fix it. Its a good thing you are good at skiing backwards cuz you are gonna be doing that non stop!
