for the record, the graph on the sidewall actually says "core center" at +7.5. also, the core center is actually at +9.5 from SOLE center (0) because the graph was and has been misprinted on the sidewall since they first started printing it back with the original SPs and PEs. think about this- "core center" implies that it's at the center of the core, not that it's 9.5cm BEHIND the center of the core.
anyway, mount them at +5 according to the graph.

ok, so my skis are at the shop, and in case they are as stupid as me, the +5 five is gonna be off the graph...riiight?

that really made no sence, im sure K2 wouldnt misprint stuff on the ski, "core center" is where the ski is the thinnest, and it IS 7.5 cm BEHIND true center. Oh yeah, and at "+7.5" it says TRUE CENTER.

no. plus five from the midsole mark.
just take them to the shop and tell them to mount at +5. they'll know.

Have them mounted at +5 on the graph on the side of the ski. This is +5cm from midsole.

For some reason i always thought core center was the mid sole? I was mislead, sorry for my retardness, but +5 is the best, if u plan to do park tho i would go with +6 or +7

Midsole is NOT the same as midsole.
Also, no need to go further forward than +5.

midsole is 0
core center is +7.5
true center is +12
core center is money for park. +5 kills everything. adjust as needed.

it's all K2s actually... madens, pes, fujatives, and seths.

you're an idiot. do you ever visit the K2 forums? you should if you plan to tell people how to mount their K2s. why? because of stuff like this. Morrison told the boards that K2 has been misprinting the graphs on the skis. measure it yourself- he's correct. the graphs are printed 2 cm back from where they should be. the 0 mark is actually -2 from where it should be. this makes core center at +9.5cm from sole center (once again, using Seth's terminology- he's been doing this since before you were even a twinkle in your parents' eyes, so i trust he'd know what he's talking about).
as for our friend who has his skis in the shop, most shop techs have no idea this mistake was made and mount according to the graph.

it is the case with both the fujative and vicious.

Crazyfuck is completely right although explaining this usually creates mass confusion.
Just go by the graph and your shop and all involved should understand.

core - +7.5
true - +12

I'm tired too.

that's the tip-to-tail length, Iggy, not the core length. the tip is slightly longer than the tail and you don't want to mount further forward that +9.5cm. to measure the core, simply measure the sidewall (except for on the Fujas, obviously). when i measured out my 179 PEs, the center of the tip-to-tail length was actually more like +11.

I'm pretty sure the graph is placed the same on all K2 skis. I think +12 is true center for all K2's (the factory team skis).

it is pretty funny that everytime this is brought up people seem to lack the mental capacity to be able to understand what it means.
even with Crazyfuck explaining it, the concept that the graph is off by 2cm shouldn't be something that difficult to understand.

LOL....
I'm trying to make it easier for people.
If you get people to try and actual figure out what the true center of the ski is they will fuck it up and their heads will explode.
it is just easier to pretend the graph isn't off and use the scale, because I said above, getting people to understand that the graph is off by 2cm is about as difficult as it is teaching women to drive.....
=)
only thing you have to make sure is that the scales are identical on each ski. I've seen pairs where they have been off by a few cm as well.

shit... now you've opened an entirely new can of worms. the graphs might not even be the same from ski to ski!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! everyone go nuts and freak the fuck out!!!!!
