Why don't we measure skis by their running surface more often? I mean, sure, you can normally find out what it is fairly easily, but isn't this a more accurate measurement? Especially for skis with huge tails, that alone can take off a substantial length.

i aghree with you, al;so all compaines should measure by the same standard.

That would be neat but then kids would be buying skis too big for them most often. I mean the 178 invaders have a running length in he 140's I think.
