I come on here almost daily. I read of those of you at Whistler, Aspen, Tahoe, Killington... at first I get pretty jealous, you are rolling in more man made snow the first week of the season than I have seen in my life. Your mountain hires people to make sure your jumps are just right, and you have the freedom to session it all day long.
Then I realize how happy I am that I ski at a tiny, 2 T-Bar, member-owned resort. I'm an instructor, but it's only to pay off my food tab (and to make sure my home slopes stay above water and don't close forever. We are a family, you wont have that at a big resort.. I can name every liftie, shop guy, kitchen gal, instructor, any member... and I know them more than just their name. I know what it is to spend an entire day working on one jump, just to come back the next and session my masterpiece. There's a lot to be proud of, especially for such a small place. My pride outweighs my envy for huge resorts.
