Pow Rentals

Hey kids. I'm going to Jackson Hole at the end of this month. I'm from the east, so I've never really experience real pow/back country skiing before. I'm not bring my own skis out there, so I have a chance to demo some skis, and I need help deciding which would be best. Here are my options:

Salomon: Scream Pilot Xtra Hot, Pocket Rocket, TenEighty
Rossignol: Bandit B3, Bandit B2, Bandit B2W and Scratch BC
K2: Apache Recon, Made'n AK, Fujative, T-9 Burnin' Luv, T-9 Phat Luv, T-9 Tru Luv
Fischer: Big Stix FX 10.6, Big Stix FX 8.6, Big Stix FX 7.6, Big Stix 8.0
Atomic: Big Daddy, Sugar Daddy, Metron B:5, M:EX, M:10, M:9

Recommendations would be great, thanks!

i agree that madens are the best choice. the salomon x-scream is a sick powder ski as well.

iam from the east too... and iam going out west next year but i dont got powder skis,i got scratches..

i got the scratch sprayer fs i duno about them in pow but iam taking them out west anyway.

i took my ar5s out to utah..2 1/2 ft of blower and they were fine. maybe you dont even need to rent if you know how to ski

you wont be sking pow all day every day, i would use pocket rockets or something more all mountain friendly.

yeah the new bcs are dope. otherwise i would say maidens or seth vicious. something that is a more all-round ski would do you best though. you dont need a super fat ski to ski pow. i'm in utah and have friends that ski on scratch fs (old) and like 02 k2 enemies. those are not fat by any means, yet they do fine.

i am a iron maiden fan and i would kill for the possibility to rent the maden ak's somewhere, no local shop carries em.

too bad that they arent park skis, i would buy them over the net and ride em on a glacier with my maiden t-shirt and some maiden song in my ear.

but when riding pow you better listen to the snow and wear something warmer...

how fat does the waist have to be to be considered a "powder ski"...cause all new twins are around 80 mm or more at the waist which is what wouldve been called a powder ski not too long ago

it seems to me like you could ride any ski in powder, some would just be easier to ride than others. if they are demo skis and you are getting them for free then by all means. but like whoever is above me said, most if not all twins made in the last year or two have a waist of 80+. if you've got new/newer skis just rock em. my friend travis rides his public enemies when he goes to france and whistler, he's fine.

the pocket rockets are so much fun its just rediculous. go for them so if there isn't a shitload of fresh pow youll still be fine. also scratch BC for the same purpose

I got the new TM's and I plan to take them to CO this month and to Utah next month and I am not to worried about it. Hopefully they serve me as well out of the park as they do in it.

If it's all really deep for sure, go with the Madens.

If it's only a bit deep and there's some not covered in powder, get the Scratch BC's

i'm going with my dad, and we're only going for two days, so it would be a hassle to check our skis out there so we decided to just rent out there. plus it gives me a chance to demo some stuff i've never ridden.
