INTRODUCTION
1) introduce yourself, and get to know your student(s)
BOOTS
1) Check if boots are on the right foot
2) Get them used to the boot with “Simon says”, “hokey poky” etc..
SKI-1
1) Introduce the ski, binding (check din)
2) SHOW how to put it on
3) allow them to put one on
4) Have them shake there foot
5) Have them side step
6) Have them skate in that ski
(5 + 6 play tag)
SKI -2
1) have them put on there second ski
2) have them side step
3) have them slide PERPENDICULAR to the hill
4) have them slide down the hill underneath your pole (pretent its electric volts)
5) have them slide down the hill and have them hop (jump on evil snakes)

ummmm
i wouldnt have them slide under your pole, because if they pivot while on their back sliding down the hill while trying to get up, you could have an ACL problem.

i was shown that was the way to do this. and the kids are unable to pivot yet, they havent even learned to stop

You have to be able to ski at the level you are teaching...so when you give an example of a snowplow...DO NOT EDGE!!!! If you are teaching the progression from snowplow to parallel...DO NOT EDGE...etc.
Try and explain what you are doing, why you are doing it...etc...in a language that a non-skier would understand. You have to be able to demonstrate that you are a decent skier, but don't show off when you are supposed to be /demonstrating at a beginner level. I've seen many people fail because they were too cocky...good skiers, but couldn't give an example of a beginner skier.
Thats my advice...the course is super easy, but don't go in knowing everything. Remember you are dealing with CSIA level 4's who think they are king shit of skiing :)

First you should show them how to open & close the wedge Snowplow, How to slow down & stop (control speed by pressing down heels. Then have them do 1 large turn by pivoting foot outwards and keeping weight on it. Then congradulating them on how good they are. and then turn the other way.
then turn both ways slalom,
Then congradulating them again & again
Then you can start playing games of flexing
and going under the pole
And congradulating them again , ect

u don't have to teach them all the way to basic parallel do u? because when i did mine we only had to teach one section
But my advice is to be really enthuiasic (sp)thats a big thing that they are looking for

i had mine today
i had to do never been on skis
so first had to check boods and bindings then teach em how to climb up a hill then juat make sure thier s&b is good like shoulers over toes knee hips and ancles bent then you teach them to stop so ur just like push ur heals out and ur toes in then jsut tell em how to turn be like put preassure on ur downhill ski by extending ur leg and don't forget to give them feed back and exersizes to try that basicly what i did and i got above standard for mostly everything
good luck man evan though ur prolly done
so how did u do?

Ive instructed for 5 years and working with kids in a weekly program we might be able to get to the jump/duck after a few weeks... that is BS, the most important thing they need to be able to do when just sliding down the hill is not be afraid of leaning downhill, they need to apply pressure to their shins and keep their weight centered, you are gonna have a hell of a time with ppl ducking under poles and falling backwards. Email me if you want my personal method of teaching skiers, I don't go BY THE BOOK 100% Ive got a few tweaks that get people up to speed as fast I as humanly possible (I believe) as I am probably the best instructor under the age of 30 at my resort...

oh the test, ya just do that for the test but I don't follow the book, and I use a lot of hand motion/simulation when I teach
