so i was skiing down yesterdy after 8 hours of skiing and i did a little ollie of a bump and my tips dug into a bump that was right after it...so i ended up cuting my face and tweaking my hip. so now when i walk my hip feels like its a little bit out of place, and if it just popped then it would be fine again. what should i do?
get an x-ray of both your hips, alot of people have a bad joint contact...meaning that one of your hip joints doesnt form an angle into the contact point, where as the other one will go from an angle...i have the same problem...rest a few weeks and let it get better! it will help greatly...and the one that may not go in at angle will create pain because it isnt meetin in the joint where it should, and if you have this you'll have to eventually have something called an ostiotomy, to get your hip back into the right angle, so the point where ur hip and socket meet correctly, this would prevent the wear and tear of cartlidge
it's probably a hip pointer, and to treat that you should ice your hip and do this exercise: stand like you are going to do a lunge, tighten your buttox and bring your chest up and lean forward for a few seconds. come back to the original position and repeat. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WARMED UP WHEN YOU DO THIS! do it every night in the shower or something. It might feel a bit uncomfortable, but it helps to strengthen the muscles in your hips.
