i dont get why everyone talks about salomon's team, but no one buys their skis. I'm only 14 so i got the flyer, but they work awesome. They work amazing on all terrain, park, trees, cordorouy etc!
that was my point, the only twin tips i've seen (my home resort is tiny) have been rossi or salomon, but no freeskiers use them. I saw a guy on my skis stugglin on the bunny hill and it made me sick, i also saw a freeheeler on thrusters, but no actually freeskiers
my opinio is that twin tips in general suck for real skiing, i prefer freeride or all mountain skis, even race skis at some occasion, when im not in the park, theres nothing like throwing some sick carves... im from the east, so i dont get much powder...
I've been wanting to say this. A few days ago at my mountain, it was demo day. So a whole bunch of reps came and they let us try and ski that we wanted. I rode the Foils first, and wow, i loved them. The foam core gives you more pop off of the jump and just, wow. All around, great ski. After i rode those, i rode the Thrusters. These are by far my favorite ski that i have ever rode. These create even more pop off of jumps than the foils. I like how they are stiff, but not too stiff. But ya, everyone should stop giving Salomon so much shit becuase they make sick skis.
i was saying that because the maker of this thread is 14 and is on the salomon flyer, a little kid ski. not saying anything is wrong with that. and no, my parents dont sponsor me. i bust my ass picking apples in the summer, 35 hour week to pay for my skis and season pass
i used to love my salomons (foils 174) but now i have tighter fitting boots i really feel the chatter (today wasnt the best day to judge though) the slop in my boot used to absorb a lot....i want something heavier, but in the air these skis feel great
word...im too heavy for the foam core which = breakage, it's fine for someone starting off not throwing down off huge ass kickers but i had some skiblades from them back in the day with the fom core and i broke those even so salomon's skis are on my shitlist
ive got last years teneightys,
im 15,
i like em.
plus i see people like sammy carlson and peter olenick quite a bit these days...
they rock salomon, and they rip like no other.
I had Salomons for a year and loved them. The core did break down unfortunatly. (Leading me toward Dynastar) It did not take a day or week to weaken but close to two months of hard riding... which is over twice as long as my lines and 4ftnts lasted.
They also have an amazing boot. I've been using a form of the 1080 boot for the last five years and found it to be the most comfortable freestyle boot for my foot shape. Also the 1080 pole from a few years back has proven rather indestructible over time. I have to say salomon is one of the most well rounded companies and producing great equipment
I haven't ridden the new foils but I went from 1080s to the PEs and I find the PE to be a much more solid ski... thats just me, salomon is a great ski and was durable for me but the PEs feel great
right now im looking for new skis...im 5'4 125-130ish. basically what ur saying is that they would work for me cuz im not that heavy. i dont have the cash to buy 2 pairs every season.
