AIM problem

whenever someone sends me a message, i get 2 or 3 of the same messages. i think the problem is just with my screen name because it doesnt happen for my brother's screen name. does anyone know what could be wrong or what i could do to fix it

take the program off your computer and reinstall or upgrade to a newer version

but it isnt the program because my brothers screenname doesnt have the problem but mine does, and were using the same computer and the same program
