this christmas my mom bought me hit list (msp) i, knew that it wasnt going to be the best but i figured id watch it anyway (hell if it got too boring i have teddy bear crisis too)
it started out with a pretty cool intro that was pretty cool and i thought "perhaps it wont be so bad after all" but then it just seemed like the intro would never end it dragged on and on. then it stopped and eric hjorleisfson's part started it had solid, sick big mountain skiing, but it had a bad song and was way too long and boring. then mike douglas's part started and that also had good skiing but a bad song and lack of editing the part to the song. after that came sme boring thing about helicopters and stuff. then rory bushfeild's part, it had a good beggining and they did some actual editing, but after a while the editing slackened off and it was of a bunch of random slow-mo clips with a song. then pep fujas, his part could have been sooo good but it was way to long and under-edited, he had so much good footage but it did not turn out to my liking, if they had cut out some stuff and edited the pert to the song it would have been great. then ingrid backstrom came, it's good to see a girl riping big mountain but the fact of the matter is her part wasnt good same thing as all the other parts, it just didnt hold my attention. next: sarah burke, she had a generally good part it seemed kinda like, oh same ol same ol for her i havnt seen any tremendous improvment, but it's clear that shes getting switch tricks down and is still progressing. after that came mike wilson, he had a good part, he is doing supe progressive, sick stuff, if the editing was equal with his ability, it would have been a great part. mike's part led into andy mahre's and i was impressed, lack of editing was another key point, but his skiing was great and it was an overall good part. next: shane mcconkey, he ha a lot of good footage, but it was all in slow-mo with a long slow song, it was just not interesting. jt holmes started out with a long, drawn out intro but the rest of his part was super solid, i was able to watch the whole thing and still be interested so it turned out ok too. then mark abma's part started, it had super good skiing, again minor editing grumbles, but def. a good part. then came some long boring thing about there boat trip. which led into hugo harrison's part, he is sick but again msp had to go make it boring, with a semi long song and too much slow-mo. eric pollard had a good part, they didn't edit it much, but it seemed to fit with the song real well, there were only a couple little thing that were bad about it. then chris benchetler's part came in and again it was impressive skiin, with impressive shots, and a little bit of snowboqarding by john jackson, but it needed to be editred to the song better.
all in in all the review can be summarized by saying: msp needs to spend less time putting everything in slow-mo and spend more time picking better songs and editing the parts to the song better. and making slow parts more interesing and shorter.
i understand that it's not msp's style to do this kind of stuff and i respect that, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to try something new.
p.s- if you read this whole thing kudos
