ive seen stuff like The Big Lebowski, Rushmore, and Black Cat White Cat (a rediculous croation movie, i strongly reccomend hunting it down) what are some other great non mainstream films?
suspiria is really good
of course requiem for a deal...thatll change your life.
pi was good.
and non necessarily underground, but probably the oddest flick ive ever seen, a clockwork orange. such a brilliant movie.
theres a bunch oif em out there.
The Machinist. Again, kinda main stream but amazing. It kinda reminded me of Memento (another really good one) cuz you don't really know what going on until they want you to.
Hazard au Bethazor, or something like that. It a black and white old french film. Its not like one of those movies you watch and are like ooooo ahhhhh, but its intresting.
newport south is good. and there is a movie that i cant remember the name of but i watched it 3 or 4 times in the time i rented it. it is about these guys who find a crashed plane with a bunch of money in it. the greed eventually drives one character to kill the other 2 characters and one of there wives and stage it like a double homicide suicide. another good one is mystic river but you have to pay attention because it does unannounced flash backs.
"the city of lost children" fits perfectly under the title of this thread. it's maybe one of the weirdest films i've ever seen. those crazy frenchies. but it's a really good movie. just weird. ron perlman, who played hell boy, is in it.
freaks(check)
rnr high school(own)
dirty harry (coo coo)
so i take it your a ramones fan? and watched freaks just to see where gabba gabba hey came from?
haha kinda... my dad told me it was a gnarly movie when i was little and i didnt get a chance to watch it until after i became a ramones fan... i didnt even see the coincidence until you mentioned it
that was mainstream but good. i saw an IMAX version. fucking intense. my friend's dad is named like Anthony (or somehting like that i dunno) Stack. he does documenteries and we get some weird shit. there was one about these dudes from manhatten in the 80s who filed their teeth, drank blood, and put hooks through the cartilage of their knees to hang on the ceiling.
