personally I would not recommend upgrading to it, stick with panther. Just skip it unless necessary. It was such a hassel for the first day, it kept resetting my accounts on it. Applications kept telling me that they were opening for the first time even though I had opened them before. Mail was being a little bitch, kept resetting everytime I quit. But after a few fustrating hours and many restarts everything seemed to start working. But if you can get someone to hook you up, do it. Just don't buy it.
yea, but some of my stuuf is already jacked up, I'll just a clen install and wipe everything out, then reinstall fcp studio and start from scratch with all the other progs.
^thats what I did. I had to wipe my drive because of an unrepairable system error then have to reinstall everything. It could of been just that my mac decided to act up or something.
i love it. i didnt have any problems when i installed it, and the widgets and other things (like groups in ichat (unless thats just a regular update)) aretight too. i originally had a friend who gave it to me on a burned cd but my computer fucked up and i had to reinstall my os but friend wasnt here :( then i tried downloading the torrent multiple times with no luck. but..... i eventually found a friend with the family pack who only installed it 3 times, so yeah i dont know if its worth all of the moneydollars in the wallet
downloading a using an OS off of a torrent site is probably the worst thing you could do, it's obviously the entire core of your computer so if you have even 1 messed up file deep in the library or system settings, you could have a world of shit to deal with...best bet is to find a couple friends and go in on a family pack, that way you get a legit copy but for super cheap
I installed a copy off of bit torrent and it works just fine. The whole messing up the core files or whatever the guy above said is the same regardless if the copy is legal or illegal. There is always a chance that installing software can screw up your system. But it is just software, so if you /it screws up, just wipe it off and reinstall. Just back up your important files before you start
well its actually not the same...if you download a torrent file that someone felt like fucking with to screw up people who used it then there's the kind of problem that happens sometimes, whereas if you have a legit copy then you obviously dont have to worry about it, hence not the same...
