how long were you guys skiing park before you started doing stuff over tables that are like 35-40 feet? just a general time frame cuz i was hoping i could start learning some more air tricks this year off of real jumps.
well after skiing for 4 times i did a 40 foot jump. and then on the 6th time december 23 2005. first day back of season i did a 180 over a 20-25 footer.
hope that helped u
ive been skiing for like a month total time and i am a rail person but im going to get better at jumps hopefully...a lot of the skiers that like switch over seem to be rails first
I couldn't give you an honest figure because I have been skiing my whole life. I started "park" stuff 5 years ago when I was like 14, but it was on little pussy jumps that were built poorly. The first time in a real park was when I went to squaw 3 years ago and hit the 40 footer. Just watch a lot of people go first and get an idea of the right speed and it is nothin.
i started hitting like 40-50 footers by the end of my first full year in the park (last year) but my hill doesn't even have big jumps and none at all so far this year, so it kinda depends what you have access to
"bigger jumps" are often not a big deal especially when the resort as their shit together, just know your speed and pop for each size of jump and you should be able to do a 3 over a 15 foot jump or a 50 foot jump... or whatever spin or invert etc... I had been skiing "park" locally which was b/s until I went to whiteface a few years ago which still wasn't that great but I guess I did my first 3 and 5 over a 30 footer after a year and did some 5s and 7s over jumps at killington the year later...
