This is definately a very common problem. And the thing I think I did to fix it was to spot my landing, before I wasn't really looking what I was doing so I would just randomly land and fall back. But when you spot the landing, you are ready to land before you hit the ground. Another couple of things to remember:
-Lead with your head
-Keep your whole body together
-Make sure you are spinning fast enough for the amount of air you have
all the rotaiton is about your head and your shoulder so if when you rotate you look up in the air you will land backseat so you just have to look forward or la litle lower
I find off bigger jumps I used to land backseat all the time and it killed my shins! One day i decided it would be cool to start carving off the lip and try to cork out my 3's. Voila problem solved. If you kinda carve off, and drop your inside shoulder a bit and keep your head down you can spot your land very easily. This allowed to me stomp my 3's much better. Even if you don't want to carve off the lip dropping your inside shoulder and trying to spot your landing should really help. Also the pop is very important. An improper pop can throw your whole trajectory off so maybe try throwing just straight airs and really emphasizing your pop. Good luck.
i say make sure you pop off the lip so you are parallel with the flat of the jump at least. by popping you can pull your legs up and adjust to the landing better as well. use the same advice for spinning as already mentioned
