Unbreakable Jibbing poles.

I had an idea, tell me what you guys think.
After breaking $70 poles 2 days after I got them, and bending another pair the day that I got them, I decided I would invent some specialized 'jib only' poles. They would be make of flexible rubber, not so that they would wave around, but so that they wouldn't break. You wouldn't be able to pole plant or put much weight on them, but they would bend if you fell on them instead of broke. Maybe instead of rubber, it would be a soft rubber with a flexible metal spring inside taht would keep its shape or soemthing... But yeah, what do you guys think?

I got smith compitions and i only had to pay 30 fot them and i havn't broke them, except the round thing at the bottem is fucked, but ya if u have a big problem with poles breaking I'm sure that might work, but i think just solid steal wouldn't be much lighter/cheaper then finding a big ass spring and putting the ruber on it...

invest in some Goode poles. They are made out of some type of carbon. They bend and go back to normal. I think if you bend them too far they shatter, but I've never been able to. I've had my pair for like 3 years, and they only cost me $30

just go to a ski swwap at the beginnning of the year and buy a shit load of used poles for 5 stones a piece, then u can break them whenever and it iwll b no worries

The Goode composite poles are nice and sturdy. You can buy them for cheap at sports authority or some other general purpose sports zoo, and you may be able to get them for like $20-40 over on ebay.

yea goode graphite poles are great, they bend and bend back, and their near im possible to break, but they are stealable, i found that out

get a pair of scott firewall's or the dispatch. the dispatch is a sick snow camo color.. so when your doin a steezy rail all the bitches is like ohhhh look at him. plus they are the strongest pole on the market.

The best pools ive had that lasted me a long time were World Cup stock Scott race poles. Those were the shit, never bent or broke, till i lost one. Yeah, so after i lost those i bought some shitty as kermas which i bent in about 2 days to shit, the were pretty much useless. Then i got some goode carbon ones at a ski swap and i broke one in half after a few days doing a pole front flip. So im not having good luck with poles

try to find world cup stock poles

Get some rental poles and cut them to the proper size, and keep them...

Also rubber wouldn't work, just get some quailty composites and they should last you atleast a season,

1 set of composites say= $ 100
Or break 5 aluminum ones all season= $100

i think u all must use your poles difrently, i just have them hanging from my wrist, never poleplat and dont stick them into the ground on landings, i somtimes role over them when i eat shit but only broken them once when i didn't get off the chair and stuck one in the circly thing that the chair turns around...

race atomic gabel poles, it would take a lot for me to break them, ive eaten it a lot at high speeds into fences and they havent broken yet, i had the smith compitition poles for awhile but i bent those pretty fast

Leki Triggers - they have a harness that goes around your hand, instead of the loop... the grip connects to like this hinge thing right above your thumb. They're great for newschool, cause you can completly letgo of your pole for doing grabs, and then the pole stays right where you need it.

i just use the rental poles from my mountain and fuck up at leats one pair of those up a day. usually on purpose. it makes me feel better about myself to know i'm wrecking someting that i didn't pay for. i love taking them to the trees after the park then grabbing another pair before hopping back on the lift

My first 3 i did this year there was wet pow and my pole stuck into the ground and i leaned forward a bit and for a second it felt like my shoulder was dislocated. Luckily, it wasn't and i actually landed the 3 but skied away with only one pole.

just buy cheap poles. ultimateley the top end pocket rocket poles are going to do the same job as rental poles unless your a fat bastard skiing knee deep pow!! Besides your poles are more for style than for pole planting when it comes to jibbing

I've had these shitty red rossi poles for like 5 years now...they're all bent and look completly ghetto, but hey, i they've held up.

Yeah, my hill has rental poles lying all over the place, and they're goode poles too. If your local hill has one, look by a towrope, especially a bunny hill towrope. All the kids throw their rentals down at the base of the rope to go up, just snatch one. My friend stole a pair and spray painted them white, but then he got banned from the hill for a week. I also just use my old scott poles, bent and shit, but still good. I got brand new leki race poles for 10 bucks at my ski swap ($80 poles new for 10!) and i use those for ski team. So my suggestion, ski swap or snipe a rental pair, just dont bring the rentals home. Or you can use large stickes with the ends sharpened down, whatever works

yeah i got some 20 dollar Leki ones and they havent broken yet, thy are bent up and crap bt they havent broken and i got em last year so im happy, except the basket fell off one of them and i need to get a new one but i always forget to get it

get em from a ski swap the ones in edmonton all the ski shops unload 2-3 year old pole for $15-$20. I got two pairs but i haven't broken my Gabel poles(ordered from Michelle Pratte) for two years and they've been bent in every direction

RENTAL POLES!!!!!!! they're almost impossible to break! if you break them, watch out for splintering material

my poles are 20 dollar aluminum scott classics. If they get bent just find a tree and hit them against it until its straight again. This also prevents kinking. I read it in Skiing Magazine and it worked.

Yeah, i think that rental poles are made to not break, because they feel like pure steel. they are very heavy but indestructible.

ok, so i know this kid...he's amazing...he broke those cammo poles you talked about...broke two pairs of composite graphite poles...BENT a pair of graphites...and broke a pair of rentals in half. He's a god.
