there are a bunch of threads about the park. it's good. lots of stuff to jib on. 3 hits. you can never tell how the conditions will be, the weather is screwy..but it's been wicked nice.
as far as terrain..we have a fair amount of glades. check out a map online and you get a good idea. smuggs is fun, you'll like it
the C box is probably around 15 feet long, and very professional, with round metal edges and puckboard. the S box is exactly the same, only with another C at the end, so it works out to about 30 feet. if uve seen the S box in park city, it looks alot like the smuggs one
well, last year it was maybe 3ft tall. and its intensely buttery smooth. i love that s-box. im gonna pirate it away and have my own private NS session with all you guys
try em out and see for yourself. you'll have time to check everything out. madonna has some good stuff. i personally love doc demseys and 3 mountain glades. lift lines on both are fun. have fun
yeah, i think the S was about 3 feet up. the battleship is really nice. its not an amazing rail for skiing, just because the first and 3rd legs are kinda steep, but the top is really long, and its flatbar. probably about 5 feet high
you should know that smuggs has the worst lifts ever. only double chairs and they are about as fast as my grandma. lines vary from day to day. the black hole is pretty much never open. when in jan are you going?
its a sick area, but when i went the park was realy shitty and they had like no base so i diched the park and hit the glades. they had decent size clifs for the east if you look for them. Wach for iced over waterfalls to drop.
i was tryin to find a good stah there last year. i was goin down robins, i stayed on the trail around the sharp tuirn to the flat section, and then i turned into the woods because ity was deep and untracked. about 200 feet the trees became way too thick to ride and i got stuck in waist to chest deep for an hour trying to get out. i made my way to the right because i saw a clearing, which i later found out was a trail that was cut illegally, whcih was really fun.
there is a connecter trail at the top of stowe and smuggs that connect with each other...so you could for sure swing over to smuggs from stowe or vice versa...just be prepared for some hiking.
Smuggs park is all right, jumps kind of suck cause you have to stright line the whole park just to hit the last jump. trails are good, trees are better, slow lifts
yeah stowe is sick for sure.. iv been going there for about the past 3 years now and iv always liked it .. supirzingly i liked it better than killington... i thought killington was gonna be better but i guess not. stowes lifts seem alot better than killingtons.. are the locals cool at smuggs? maybe i could find somebody to show me all the good spots or something.. how far is the hike to stowe? if its not that long maybe ill go there.. does anybody know the good glades at stowe ? iv never really been through them.
smuggs is a locals place and they are the chillest people as long as your not a snob to them first. smuggs has some awesome stashes hidden away in nooks and crannies all over the mountain. as for the hike to stowe, depending on how frozen the pond is, the snow conditions, and how many people have done the hike before you...it could take anywhere from 15-40 minutes to make the connection. if your at smuggs, just stick there man its cool as all hell. and dont forget to bring some family fun to america's number 1 family resort !!!! yippeeeee
hmm okay.. but if i get bored and they're isnt enough to do i think i might go over to stowe.. what do they have new in the park? or whats new to the mtn this year? oh and how about the nightlight at smuggs is it any good ?
holy shit dude you ask too many questions. just chill and have a good time. people are super nice as long as you aren't a douche bag. just don't come with an attidude and you'll have a blast. i ski there everyday and i don't get bored. go somewhere else if you are that worried. i'm sure you're a great skier and all but most of the kids there rip and if they're satisfied i'm sure you'll be.
Smuggs is sick. Sure the lifts are slow, but its worth it. If you think the mountain is flat, go to Stowe. I'm sure all the Stowe people would love to have another person waiting in their lift lines.
