i celebrate christmas on the 24th. like, i open gifts after dinner with my family. dinner consists of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and rice, cake if we still want it! i got both for christmas and they are wrapped but i opened my gift to see what movies i got and then rewrapped it so, i know. i spoiled christmas for myself but who cares. i cant wait till tomorrow night
i think tbc was better overall but s6 has great shots and the music seems gay the first time but it grows on you.....but i would seriously wait until christmas if i were you.
16mm film is easily the worst looking video out i love interlaced high def that isnt even high def anyway because it is compressed for DVD so its just like a handy cam...but i well S6 is real artsy much more so than teddybear all the film idea berman had(film a skier........what thats is) and all thise ideas ostness lacked(SLR timelapses, awesome anlges, stop motion) no worries boyz what what what....WAR was the goodest movie...PYB was also ok i liked it better than S6
HUH? public forum concers everyone , and i was pointing out the fact that anyone who says " SEARCH BAR " on a topic other than reviews on ski equipment and media needs to infact shut the fuck up.
seriously like 16mm quality is much better, it all depends on the equipment you use. warren miller uses 16mm and the shots look incredible, same goes for MSP and PBP. Sometimes, yes, it can look kind of gritty, redtape for example is mostly shot on 16mm (except they used the GL1 in a couple shots i think, not possitive) and ya it has a destinctly different look then other 16mm films, but thats not to say that since there was one movie like that, that all 16mm shots look shitty.
are you guys shitting me? you like shitty interlaceddigital over 16 and 35mm film?? what is wrong with you?
there are way too many reasons to list why tbc owns s6... there are about 3 segments i truly enjoy watching in s6 while i can easily watch tbc right thru besides that stupid digi segment (stian hagen).
songs like blue skies ruined really good skiing in s6. tbc is far and away better than s6
and most of the "artsy shots" in s6 are berman playing with the focus wheel. not to hate on berman by any means, but dont even try to compare s6 with ostness's work as art
your logic is pretty retarded but hey if you want the forums littered with repeats of the same fucking questions then by all means ill just shut the fuck up. but im not going to argue with you over such a stupid thing, so peace.
the moral of this thread is, buy TBC if you know whats going on, and buy Shanghai six if you're ignorant as fuck and like overly clear interlaced digital footage.
WTF how can you say tbc sucked....by far the best broll ever in a ski film. that composition of the film is amazing and if you cant see that your an idiot
haha of course its better quality than high 5, high 5 was shot with a GL1 or GL2. digital doesnt look good in snow sports, and it doesnt look nearly as cinematic. a digi shot every once in a blue moon with audio in a sea of film shots looks great, but a whole movie of digi just seems lazy and doesnt look nearly as good. and as you said, the BC in s6 is very small
just comparing by the intros i knew shanghai six would kick its ass... and it did... way way way too much random shit in tbc and im kinda pissed it got so much hype for how good it really was... disagree with me if you want but the vibe and total flow of level one films is better then any company
