ill go agaist the grain, and give you a legit comparison, as ive skied both.
salomons: alot lighter, feels much more mechanical. from clicking in, to actually riding, to clicking out, it feels very "linear". with these bindings, you feel very attached to the ski. if you loose a ski, the release is very direct.
the looks on the other hand, are a bit heavier. they are alot more durable, simply by design. in contrast to the salomons, looks feel very progressive. clicking in is a smooth action, and in releases, you can feel the ski just GLIDE off. this is due to the high amounts of elastic travel offered by these bindings.
so, head to head, the looks are much more durable. the salomons have a tighter feel, and definatly transfer more energy to the ski. looks have a tiny amount of play in the binding/boot interface, due to the low forward pressure. the difference is definatly noticalbe. the looks are mounted lower. looks dont prerelease very often due to the elastic travel. the salomons are somewhat prone to blowing off, especially when landing real forward and switch.
if this was more of a all mountain ski, id reccomend the salomons. however, for this type of skiing, the looks win hands down in my opinion.
