alright, everyone needs to vote green party.
everything they are talking about might be crazy, expensive and completely off the wall, but if you actully know anything about (yes, i hate to but i'm using the damn word) "sustainability" you know that what they want to do has to be done eventually.
the question you have to ask is, do you want to change the way we live now while we have the money and time, or wait till we have to change and go into depression?
i know the green party won't win this election... but the more suport they have now will help them win in future elections.
VOTE GREEN... THE PLANET DEPENDS ON YOU!!!
AND DON'T FUCKING CALL ME A HIPPIE, I'M A REALIST DAMNIT.
AND I CAN SKI BETTER THAN YOU.

I would support this in the "mortal lock" elections where it's completely obvious how the whole thing is going to turn out, but in this case the slight possibility of a Conservative victory just isn't worth the risk. It'd be nice if the greens got more money, but it isn't worth this country going the wrong direction for the next __ years. I'm voting liberal. I like Martin anyway.

dude, yes corruption is a big thing, but give me a break if thats the reason why you are voting conservative,
Liberals are the only REALISTIC party that can run our country.
yes the conservatives would be nice for change, BUT if you vote conservative, Steven Harper is planing to make RADICAL changes to this country. AKA we are going straight to hell.
So when you vote for Conservative, remeber, you casting a vote for the Devil...

I wish ducepe could be prime minister. he was soooo good in the debates, he gave the straight answer every time. when a lady asked if they would stop the infighting in parliment, all the parties said 'oh yah, for sure', except for ducepe who answered 'no, that's what the british parlementary system is based on, we'd have to change the whole style of governement to take that out.'
That said, the canadian economy is fine, health care is mostly fine, education seems mostly fine. Really if the liberals didn't fuck up with the sponsorship scandal...there'd be little reason for a change. Unless anyone has a different complaint?
I would like to see things get shaken up a little bit in parliment, but i don't like any of the other parties...NDP would be ok for a big change, but they don't stand a chance.

Conservative definately, the Liberal party has just been in too long, and The NDP are waay far too left, Im not gonna say Laytons a bad guy, its just tyhe rhetoric. Harper may be weird but if u know his credentials he really stands for a hard working platform, and anyone whos actually worried about radical changes shouldnt, because he wont be able to make any, if harper gets it then it will be such a tight minority that anything NDP or Liberal doesnt like they can just not pass, I like the idea of some tax breaks, and the health care system can benefit from a touch of privatization.

if you vote conservative and Steven Haper gets in we will be the States' bitch. Steven Haper will bend over for Bush just like Tony Blair does. May I remind you when the issue of whether or not Canada should join the war, the Liberals told the states to fuck off and we would not support the war. While Steven Harper was there cheering on the war saying we should join, it is the right thing to do. And on other smaller issues such as the Softwood Lumber issue, I doubt Steven Harper will do anything about. He's not about to say anything against Bush or America. Steven Harper is an asshole redneck.

Liberal would be the obvious choice if it wasnt for the corruption and scandals. I guess I'd want a minority Conservative gouvernment with a strong NDP/GP

acctually I think Alberta should separate then get a left wing gouvernment

Alberta would never seperate, and never in their wildest dreams form a left wing government, the province is safely conservative, its where most conservative big whigs have their riding, and since when, did Harper, ever say anything about joining or even supporting the war, sure hes posed in Pictures with Bush before, but he knows Canada's opinion and HE'S NOT THAT STUPID.
We would not become the US's bitch, like it or not, all the Liberals are doing by pissing off the US is making a big scene, Yes we have to stand up to them on issues and Yes I agree that bush is'nt doing the best job, but seriosuly, what does the Liberal party, or Canada for that matter have to gain from pissing off our biggest and most economically powerful neighbor?, it's pretty damn stupid. and you guys are forgetting what i said earlier, anything right wing radical, that you say harper would fuck up just wont happen. If the conservatives get in than it will be by a very small minority, he wont be able to get anything passed parliament, the only reason the Liberals did is because they had NDP support. Think Conservatively

I would vote NPD for sure if I was not living in Quebec I'll vote for the BLoc... Liberals fucking sucks, they are at the power since so long they are corrupted fucks we need to change. ANd for the National Unity they are the worst, they just didn't change anything excepting getting the things worst than before for Canada and getting better chances for us separatist. I mean when I'm hearing Paul Martin saying he's a quebecker and a Canadian... yeah sure! I'm sure when he had his boat compagny that he recieved as a gift, it was registered not even in Canada so he didn't have to pay taxes. My ass you're taking all the taxes from us and you're not paying your's, I think he can go fuck himself with all the bullshit he tells I'm more on the left side than the right one and I would vote for Harper more than Paul Martin Anyday, he's lying to us at almost every word he says at the debate he didn't even answer a question really he was just turning them into how the economy was great and all this bullshit, he's not doing anything for normal people liberals are just good for helping there friends and promising a ton of bullshit and don't do them. They signed Kyoto and don't do any shit. They are such a election party we need to kick them out and tell all the politians if they are corrupted it'll happen the same to them cause if the liberals win again they'll just laugh at you telling themself hahaha we stole there money and we still have the power hahaha. SO put some1 else overthere do NOT vote Liberal!

Here are my points of views
Conservatives:
I will start by this "Does he love Canada?" well that question was very difficult question for him to answer. Now move on to other "promises" he made. Arctic surveillence. More money being spent to put militairy and Coast Guard up in the freezing water. Nobody lives there or has the will power to go to a god foresaken place. Also his Quebec-half-indepence act makes no sense.Quebecers are allowed to keep their language and culture.BIG DEAL! we already have it.
Bloc Quebecois:
All they do is weinne and bitch about the political situation. They have no plans, no promises and a bunch of no brainers with diplomas as members. Whats the point for voting for them?
NDP:
They have a good strategy. They are well organised and know what they want. One problem:size. They have no chance in to get in power.
Green party:
They are very one track minded. Yeah enviromnent is important but, economy and growth is also important. Their leader seems unstable, a lot of the members left the party because they thought that the leader cannot be stable. Id vote for them if they would show at least a strong will to go to parlement. I neever saw a commercial or a campaign.
Liberals:
Well, we had them for 10 years. I guess we know what their intentions are.

oh great, duceppe as pm, then next thing u know quebec is another country.
ndp would do a lot better if layton shut up about the environment, then just did whatever he wanted after he gets in.
also, fuck the conservatives stephen harper scares me.

I really wouldn't mind Quebec seperating. But I would prefer if Alberta would instead. Canada is just to big for everyone to be represented fairly.

green is about ecological sustanability and health... plus they understand that selling raw logs to japan so they can sink them (petrified wood in a few years will be worth way more money), or selling the logs to the united states, or some overseas country, have them make a table out of it, and sell it back to us for more than we sold it.
canada is large enough, with enough resources to be self suffeciant, yet we are completely dependant on other countries... i mean, i understand that we live in a very global comunity, but even so, canada needs to have some responibility for it's own being.
that's all for now.

Short of his seperatist view then. though i'm reminded of an air farce skit where bouchard becomes pm, then realizes if quebec seperates he's still stuck with canada :P.

^yes, Canada could be a total self sufficient country, I would personally like to see this. We have all the resources required; labour, money, natural resources, and land. But the chances of it acually happening is very slim. As for selling logs to the US, well we already do that and they have screwed us over. Instead of selling complete whole logs to countrys I believe we should process them within Canada at our own mills and sell them at a higher premium. The demand is there for wood even if it is processed and people would be willing to pay for it. And for the people who do not want to pay the higher premium there would be a greater demand for a cheaper replacement. This would lead to more research into materials that could replace wood benefiting everyone in the long run.

Voting Conservative or Liberal, well that's your opinion. Voting for Bloc is just plain stupid. Students should be taught at high school level how our government works: the british parliament system with the "first pas the post" election mode makes for a bi-partism (Conservatives vs. Liberals) that always gives a majoritary party so that the government is practically ALWAYS stable.
But the Bloc... barely qualifies as a political party. It doesn't have the intention to obtain power, and it doesn't reach out to a national level. Because of that, when you vote for the Bloc, you vote for a party that CAN'T win, that will never have the responsibilites to govern, so it can make all the declarations it wants. And since it's impossible for it to win, it will never pass any laws OR turn the tides on any laws because of party discipline.
All it does is make for an unstable parliament... and prevents from members of the cabinets being Quebecers, thus real decisions being made by Quebecers (since the cabinet holds the real power). Don't vote Bloc.

thats a good point, also what people dont understand is everybody should vote for ONE party, this will make for a stable goverment, your MP (if is part of the party that is the majority)can voice his riding's peoples concerns and have a better chance on getting issues resolved

Reply:
Alright, you guys know no shit. The fact that the bloc cant have power should light a bulb in your head. If they can not have full power, why are they there? Simply to defend Quebec's right at ottawa. They are actually the best opposition party.
I would say if you are outside Quebec vote NPD as your vote may give them enough power to have a big pull as right now, NPD pretty much as the power in the sense that if martin isnt doing what layton wants, he turns around and fuck him up!

that isnt even close to communism,, im saying everyone should vote for 1 party because if your ridings leader is part of the minority opposition, your ridding will not have any say in the government because in parliment, your ideas will likely be shot down by the majority,,,, and minority government = absolotly nothing being done,,, all their is, is constant arguing during question period and no one getting any where....

Why doesn't Alberta have a provincial party in Ottawa? A partie should represent a group of people that have the same points of views THROUGHT the country. The bloc is just a moquerie of the system because the party only reprensents one province and not a general people in Canada.
The are the worst opposition because they only reflect their personnal ideas and no one else's.Its more about selfishness than democraty.
So I can say that you don't know shit.

Every other parties dont fight for the good stuff of their elector, they just fight to rule the country and be powerful, which isnt the case with the bloc. Too bad that alberta doesnt have people that can raise a party with as much popularity to get the majority of the province to vote for them.

How much is this useless election going to cost the tax payers of Canada. Steven Harper was determined to call an election and yet one of his main objectives in his agenda is to cut taxes, what an idiot. This election is a waste of time and money and it is no other than Steven Harper's fault. You can thank him. The Liberal government was running perfectly fine even after the scandal. And the Sponsorship Scandal was totally blown out of proportion, it was only like a million dollars or something. How much did the Gomery Report end up costing the tax payers, a hell of alot more than the scandal amount. That was once again a waste of money and time all thanks to Steven Harper's ignorance and arrogance. Sure Paul Martin has a multimillionare shipping company registered off shores which his sons run. But I can care less about that.
Vote Liberal
and I'm done for now...

I was going to vote for the NDP, as I did last election. However, now I'm thinking that I'll go find out what the green party has to offer as an alternative. I certainly will not vote liberal and the conservatives represent everything I don't want in my government.
