I learned the other day from somebody in the shop at my mountain that the Ar5 is made by elan, and the Arv by atomic. I've known that little names have there skis made by diff/bigger companies, but why would Armada use both elan and Atomic? or is this whole think just total bullshit, anybody know?
alot of smaller and even larger companies have their products made by big corporations or bigger names in skiing. i think dynastar owns look and lines are made by burton. theres a lot of crazy connections
they are made in the same factory because they aren't a big enough company to have their own factory, however, this doesn't mean they are in anyway the same as atomics in design
i'm pretty sure Line makes their own skis. why do you think it's taken so long to get their product to shops? they moved all their production stuff over to China in the spring and now they're rushing to get the stuff to shops.
Ok, one thing people need to realize is that when a company like armada is made in the same factory as a company like elan. It doesn't really mean Elan is making the ski. Armada still constructs everything, makes all the plans, and whatever, so it doesn't mean the Armada will ski like the Elan just because it is made in the same factory. The factory is irrelevant to the product...unless the factory sucks ass.
