whats up guys, cameron from tn here. i skied a bunch in high school on carving skis and basically had to drop the addiction due to college costs. i got my first real job and the addiction is back. i want some twin tips! here's a few questions.
i'm 6'1" 170 lbs. intermediate skier. My old carver beginners were around 165 cm i think. I've heard twin tips run a little shorter so would 180 be a good fit for me? I can't break the bank either so i've been looking at salomon 1080's from a couple years back. good choice? always if anyone has a some used twin tips i would be interested in that for my first pair. excuse my ignorance, thank you.

180 sounds perfect for you, and the 1080 is a good all round ski so you can't really go wrong with it, there known to not be that durable though, but as long as your not plannin 40 fot gapping to rails or anythin you should be alright

I appreciate the info. I most definitely won't be making any forty foot jumps, i'm just now comfortable with a 360. I do want alot of bang for the buck though as far as durability. I'm in TN though so most of my skiing will be on icy, hard packed surfaces.

yes 180 would be perfect for you. But since there are so many different skis out there your are best off to post what you are intrested in or is available. Then we can direct your in which would be the best choice.

i love my 05 public enemies.
they were my first skis.
i skiboarded before and the public enemie was awesome to get used to skiing on.
go with 180.
i am exactly your height/weight and wish i had 179's instead of puny 169's.
