so i was thinking this might be kind of cool if you have the software. Have someone start off recording one thing(basic beat/riff/whatever), then post it and pass it on to someone else to add one more part on to it and so on. it might turn out kinda cool. just a thought
ya i thought of that, i just don't know really how we could do it since everyone works with different programs...with reason you can send someone the file, only they will need each sound the person uses if it doesn't come with reason. wut program do u use?
all we'd need to do is after somebody adds something new, they export it as a .WAV(PCM) and then pass it on. it'll be huge but quaility will remain with that format and everybody would just import the file into there program and add there touch and repeat the process.
i need to go pick up reason, as of right now i have nothing to import music onto my computer but if you're saying reason is the way to go i'll pick that up. i think though that if we figured out a way to do this it might be pretty sick because it would have all types of influences into one mass orgy of music
Yea, it works pretty well. I basically just sit at my comp with reason and aim open. Me and willey transfer the files inbetween each other, just adding our own touches.
Sending wav. files is not very good. When you do that, you can't tweak each seperate track and make the volumes fall in place... I have true sound monitors, so I usually end up doing that when me and will work together. But sending reason files is faster, more efficient, and simply better for the mix.
yeah it would suck if we just sent wav's.. i was just assumeing we were just throughing something together...but yeah...to make it sound real good send the session or reason files ... i have never worked with reason just audition/protools so i dont know what to call them
we can also use as many outside samples as we want, just make sure you go to file>song self contain and check all your outside samples so they save as self-contained.
