Next generation of ski movies...

PRetty much for the last few years ski movies have been following the same format. Pick a few skiers, pick a few locations, pick an interesting sound track, shoot segments.
I'm watching 'the endless summer' today for about the millionth time and it occurs to me that a change in the ski movie genera towards this style of filming would be awsome.
I'm talking about a true epic ski film. Not just a 27 minute movie of wiggers jumping arround and flashing their 'bling'. A movie with a story line and some soul.
What skiers do you think would make this possible? Not just raw talent but someone with a personality that could actually make a film.
What locations would work?
What type of story line would be cool?

wski was kind of what i was thinking about. If you've seen the endless summer I or II you'll know what I mean.
Something more to hold your attention than just skiing. Some travel stuff, some talking etc.
Make a film not just a compilation of shots.

^kinda but not so old and crochety.
WM is just a longer version of a regular ski movie. Skiers and segments.
I'm talking about a movie with some linearity. A plot. Start, middle, end...

yeah thats a pretty good movie...but how would skiers do that...because it seems in some of the surfing movies ive seen recently like 3degrees theres a lotta travel stuff but how would that be possible for skiing.. i mean watching people climb mountains is boring...but liek watching surfers venturing through the jungle and caoming out near bonfires and paddling 2 miles to find that perfect wave has something more to it than just skiers in a helicopter..it seems like more of a journey

There are so many little towns and obscure countries arround the world with skiing it wouldn't be that difficult. Some cool travel stories (not lifestyle segments) and what they have to do to find the snow would be cool.
Someone would just have to come up with a good story line.

yeah but that would be so hard...most of skiing travel is geting on a plane to go somewhere then taking a helicopter to the peak of a mt or hiking somewhere...surf travel is much different like having to hitch a ride on some fishing boat somehwere or learning about the culture of the place you ahve to stay at....its a lot different

it would be hard but i think that's the point. If someone wanted to do it right the reward would be huge.
I doubt any current production company could pull it off. Most of them would just fuck it up with some lame sound track and a bunch of choppy editing.

I dunno, I kinda like the old style ski films, just 35 minutes of ski porn segments.
