i was hittin a rail this weekend on my BRAND NEW rossi sprayer fs. the rail was fine, and i had my share of falls, but i didnt think they were that serious. when i got home, my edges on both skis in about the same place, right under the front part of the binding, were dented in. yes, dented ion. and the base was scrunched up beside the edges. WHAT DO I DO??? i can still ski on them, but i havent tried grinding- i think it might work if i grind down the base, but what about my edge? ill try and post a pic l8r and show the damage- its hard 2 believe n e one could do this!
to fix this, you gotta cut out the part of the base thats popped up. clamp the edges around where its bent, and slowly tap the bent area back out and into line with the edge. once that is done, either, get a base patch and patch it, or just epoxy it. if you dont know what im talkin about, take it to a shop.
^thats stupid. what you did is fairly common, and not that tough to fix. and yes, you should do something about it, cause all its gonna do is peel more base up, and catch on stuff. dont listen to people like this. its fairly easy to maintain your skis and even if you cant do the repairs yourself, keeping your skis in good shape keeps um fast and keeps um from falling apart.
No company will warranty skis from rail damage unless they expressly say so... well none that I know of. They warranty stuff that's a result of manufacturing defects, stuff like delaming after light use, edges falling out from normal use. Riding rails is not normal use, even though park skis are designed for just that.
Fuck you. If he has posted only 36 it doesn't mean that he doesn't know anything about skiing. Some people just find newschoolers later than some people.
I always thought you learned about skiing by going out and skiing and not posting here, but I must be wrong. For the guy who started this, fix it like said above, it’s easy to do and a good thing to know. Oh and I could eat turds, but I’d have to know what you had for dinner last night.
