I just wanted to find out if you all liked it and how it went? I was home that weekend (you can see my house from some of the pictures) but I didn't go out as I had too much work to do. Trollhaugen's been my home mountain for 15 years now. I grew up there, skiing every day during the winter from 1988 until 2002. I don't get skiing much anymore as job/school has taken over my life, but it was good to see all you kids killing it out there. I drove by and saw the setup and it looked sick, I'm impressed and glad Trollhaugen is finally stepping it up this year.
They've come a long ways from the shitty park on Valhalla off to the right they had for years and years. Hahaha did any of you get to their "halfpipe"? I always give the owners shit about that, they were so proud when they built it like 15 years ago.
I went through the ranks at that tiny mountain, first just skiing, then working food service, then racing, then working race crews, then finally instructing. Its a nice place, but in a way I hate to see it lose its backwoods innocence. I'm definetely stoked they got the Midwest Massacre, but I hope they don't get deluged now with a bunch of asshole skiers who will think they own the place because they can do switch 10s or switch ups on quad kinks. Anyway, just giving props to trollhaugen, and I suggest if any of you are in the midwest that you check it out and have the applepie at the Chalet after a long day, its awsome.
