What the hell are Booster Straps

I know they are like big elastics that go on your boots in place of that shitty velcro strap, but what do they do? How do they help? DO they help? I need help.
I jacked my shin the other day, and was wondering if this gives some absorption to my boots. like shocks.

But they also stiffern up the boot a little, but allow more cushioning on the shins and altogether hold everything together really well. Nick

So do you wear them with your regular booster straps? or do you take the reg ones off?

I'm thinking about getting some for my boots.

The main thing they do for me rather than allowing for elasticity in impacts, is to give a consitent pull inward for when the boot stretches slightly later in the way. Keeps the boot nice and close throuhgout the day like they should be.

You remove the regular strap. Once the Booster strap is on, the regular one is useless. In my case, I couldn't remove my regular strap. So I just cut it off.

alot of tele skiers use them here. its nicer on the shins when you drop the knee. makes for less shin-bang too.

alright so i found a website on them and whatnot, and it said that they are used for racing, freeskiing and all that mumbo jumbo. my whole leg hurts like a bitch where the cuff of my boot hits, and i think it's this notorious "shin bang" it hasnt gone away for a while. I'm thinking about hitting up a pair of these here straps.

yeah its supposed to let you "initiate your turn" better and just make your ski all around more responsive. their like 40 bucks though. kind expensive for a big rubber band

There are two types, one more flexible than the other. The less flexible one, which is better for park, is only $25.

yeah there are several types. i dont ride much park, and always fuck my legs on drops though. i think i'll check them out though. maybe find them cheap. or put one of those big asparagus rubber bands on my boot.

any recent nordica boots have an elastic velcro top strap, so you dont need them if you have nordica boots, or at least they wont do much over the stock ones
All times are Eastern (-5)
