Well I tried to get into the park scene last year, but now im thinking that I shouldnt be there. I have so much fun just going fast, making nice turns, going switch and doing 180s off of little side jumps. I try so hard to do bigger things in the park but I get so caught up in what other people might think of me when I try a 3 but bust my ass trying. For some reason I think the only way to get respect is doing tricks. What do you people think, should I stick with having fun doing what I do or continue with failing at park.
yeah if youre having fun who cares and when you feel like goin bigger just remember that everyone has learned how to do stuff and theyve all been there so if they laugh at you or whatever just tell them whats up
I must tell you you're stupid thinking like that: trying hitting 3's won't make you look stupid. you can't? well try and learn. one day you'll get bigger and bigger. just take it easy and ski for yourself, not for those stupid fuckers laughing at someone trying to get good at something he likes to do.
the only way your going to get better is to try things. thats dumb if people give you shit because you fall. everyone has been there once. just stay in the park and have fun
people that judge you by your abilities in the park are the cancer of the sport. the sport should all be about fun. people should be encouraging and helping eachother instead of ragging on someone for their mistakes. do whatever makes you happy, and if someone gives you crap, stab him.
I used to think that if you threw down you were sick, but now I don't even care, I try new things and fall all the time, and the other kids who do the same are fucking awesome. Don't let other kids judgements like that get to you, if you're having fun and trying then you're the man.
don't let what other ppl think get to you everyone is just out there 4 fun and if they laugh then that should be their problem cause there's no need 4 it
I couldnt of said it better. but I'll try anyways. if you like how you're doing now just stick with it and if you wanna try somthing that you know you can do, don't let fear get in the way or other people laughing at you who cares? skiing's about having fun
Dude you gotta understand too that alot of kids who are nasty have been either given a gift or they ski as shitload more than you do. If i lived near a major resort with a sick park I would be nasty too if I grew up riding it 3 days a week.
Just go out and have fun, the kids who laugh are the kids who are fucking gay bags outside skiing anyways
If you really want to look good that bad, but don't want to practice in park. Just built a backyard rail and jump, practice on that, then take it too the park. But yea, ski for fun, not for image.
yeah if i see someone who sucks in the park, but he is atleast cool and not a little bitch im happy to see it. but i can understand not wanting to go to the park or think others dont want you there.
im not great, and sometimes i get the feeling that people think i should get outta the park, just ignore anyone like that, if they talk shit, kick their ass cause cocky little bitches are nothing but little rich pussys who cant stand seeing people that arent their perfect definition of "cool"
what really sucks really really bad is i sometimes think to myself or say to my friend stuff like he looks like a fag, or he sucks. but most the time its just a snowblader or some gaper. but there have been like 2 times when i thought that about a cool person.
i have to say this: just for the record!!! snowblading is gay!!! gaps are not rad either!!! possers are even gayer then gaps and bladers!!!
if someone trying all give then total props even if there just pulling off a 2'air over a mini booter!!!! every one remembers there first trick... so just dont be haters !!!
So Skiing park is super gay, i mean its fun but the attitude is pretty damn shitty. SOOooo i pretty much dont give a gfuck and have as much fun as possible, i yell shit, do stupid shit like spin 360's n my side down the first bx then 270 450 out the second then slide on my ass on the next rail or box whatever.but fuck were all there to have fun., I do talk mad shit when people cut me off though so dont fucking do it and our cool by me, have fun and fuck everyone else. WATCH 11TH HOUR,, thats what park skiing should always be like.
just ski man...or you can try what i do every season....just set a goal in the beginning of the season of what trick you want to have down by the end of the season...then just try at it every day...it can be painful sometimes but thats part of the learning process..and when you eat it people are gonna make sounds like "ohhhh" and stuff like that but that doesnt really mean they are making fun of you...i do it all the time when someone eats it but i give them credit for trying...just keep trying and you'll be fine
hey man i suck at park also and i feel the same just dont care what ppl think of u....they were all there at one point if they wanna same something then let them...thats how i look at it and i just keep on trying like i suck at all of it rails and everything but i tried rails this season and im getting the hang of them..just have fun
Lots of good responses to this thread. If everyone on the mountain treated someone who falls like the people on this site, everyone would be stepping it up a lot more. It really is all about having fun, and everybody has to try something before they're good at it. Just keep ripping and try to forget what everybody else thinks.
it sucks that people really feel like that in the park. there are a ton of guys out there who pick on the noobs which really sucks for our sport. it makes us look like a bunch of puck ass bitches
skiing is skiing no matter where you are, in the park or not. Just have fun.
But, if you do decide to try something just remember that people will give you respect for trying it, even if you fall
Fuck all the reading shit above...my view is that it doesnt matter unless yoru at like a wicked sick mtn with a ton of wicked sick kids...but if your the best there youll be fine or a small mtn is good
Besides the fact that most of the people that make fun of you are either boarders(who really cant say anything about the tricks we do) or people who haven't tried it, atleast you are trying. The have no idea what they are talkign about or how hard learning a trick really is. Some girl boarders laughed at me when i fell off the rail and they shut up as soon as i asked them how many times they tried it, cuz they never did. So who cares what they think? not many people try what you are doing anyways. And if they can do those tricks and are still making fun of you, they are just assholes cuz they were there once too.
it doesnt matter what you do as long as you ski. even if you dont practice, park represent in there once in a while and go super fast on to a jump, boost huge (landing is up to you, though it would be better if you did) and ski away. leave the peeps in awe. but focus on having fun and doing what you WANT to do. thats it.
