permanent strike as of today. having lived at the resort and worked for intrawest, i can't stress enough how selfish the employees are being. you make 4-5$ more per hour than you would working a similar job elsewhere, your benefits are great, you get to ski all the time. furthermore, most of the people working up there are from the region, and would have very little employment opportunity if it weren't for intrawest. also, if you are pushing skis for a living in the village, you are currently missing your best chances at decent comission on your sales right now.
on the other hand, given the skier traffic expected this week and next, the ownership is under a buttload of pressure to settle and get things moving again.
any thoughts?
