im not hating on the people from the west but please stop hating on the ppl from the east. everytime i see a pic or thread or video about or from the east there always saying that its sucky or pathetic. you have to understand that we dont have the same moutains and amount of snow that you have out west. i'm not trying to start a thread where it just turns into a fight between ppl from the east and west. all of us in the east dream of going out west and we know that the east is nothing compared to the west. thats all i have to say
yeh i kno the west is sick but when the people from the east get all this shit about there jumps and shit its because we dont have the same things that you get out there
east dont got the best skiiers. maby quebec for racing but i still owned at whistler cup 3rd in canada an im form the west. i just feel sorry for u tho dont even kno what powder is
if u throw a western skier into the park, hes gonna have trouble landing on hard ice, same with skiing in the woods with stumps rocks and ice, and dropping cliffs with 4 inches of what we call powder, which is sorta of like crusty snow but it doesnt hurt. a western skier couldnt handle it. but an eastern skier would easily thrive out west.
ps. we pwn western skiers
Yeah dude. If we get out west, we'd just huck off the highest cliffs and try the craziest shit because their snow is soft, even in the park. I feel sorry for you guys because you don't know what ice is.
if you can ski the east then u can ski the west 10 times better... look how good simon was on the sundayriver pipe...he was mediocar (sp?) and then when he got to hit the west he absolutly exploded...and noone understands how icey the sundayriver pipe gets you could easily take iceskates on it...look at rainville, and downey, and vanular all east coast kids blowing up
Im rather content in the east.
Id love to try out west.
but VT has good skiing too.
theres even a trip black diamond at smuggler's notch.
but still, skiing is skiing.
its better to have some than none.
i dont hate on the east, i started out their, but you really just made me laugh out loud with that comment my friend. smugglers must be fucking nuts cuz neither snowbird or alta has TRIPLE BLACK DIAMONDS!@!!@$#!!!
that was sarcastic..... im sorry, im not a rude person but i just had to! the rating system for ski resorts isnt universal....a black in pennslyvannia *idotn know ski resort names their, so i will generalise and say the entire state* could be a blue at snowbird/alta so Black doesnt mean anything across the board. i could start a ski resort in my back yard and have a quadropal black diamond and it could be flat as a pancake.
ahaha burnnn, but yeah you can clearly see for some odd reason, east coasters are way more dedicated to skiing, like not in all cases of coarse, but you can agree, some west coast pussies dont go up unless theres a foot of pow, we would go out in -40 degree weather, for more explination on that topic listen to ahmed's rationing on the last ns radio with doug.
well im just saying. that they have some trails that compare to the west. im not stupid, i know that their are some pretty crazy slopes out west. duh
kthx
That would be true if the east were anywhere near as steep as the west. In order to ski steep terrain you have to actually go down things that are steep. If you take the best skier at mad river or sugarbush and put him in the palisades for a day he will not be showing up Shane McConkey and the squaw boys. All the big mountain contests are won by people from the west. I grew up in the east too, but if you ever want to be a good big mountain skier, you have to move west. The cliffs people drop back east are simply not nearly as big, nor the lines as steep as anything out west. If east coast skiers were rocking terrain as steep as west coasters in ice you might be right, but there is nowhere back east that has truly steep terrain.
growing up in the east and skiing makes you appreciate snow more. Wehn we get a good ammount its like Christmas. I went out west last year and was so happy skiing in some of the untrakced powder from the last storm, and in the lift lines i could hear ppl complaining about the conditions.
i agree but an east coast skier could improve very quickly and adapt to the conditions or mountain and be one of the sickest big mtn skiers at that mountain within a year or so
just wait, with all the crazy tropical storms happening and all I predict a shift in snow patterns in the next 10 years. Everyone is going to want to ride at whiteface with the most vertical in the east on sick bump runs and hike the bc in NY VT and maine hahaha
seriously though, if the trend continues this year, the east will be very promising and will probably see the best conditions in the past 10+ years
i dont know why you say we arent dedicated, im at either snowbird or alta everyday *but i have to come home at 12:30 so i can get to school, but have you heard of inversions???? it might not snow for 2 weeks and it gets warm as fuck during the day and freezes at night.....we KNOW what ice is, and i ski regaurdless if its bomber pow or an inversion week, so basically you can shove that non-dedicated shit up your asses.
