I knew this before, but today really solidified my thoughts that bailing switch just blows. All I did was come up short on a maybe 20 ft table switch and I just bounced and landed down in the flat on my hip, and how it hurts like crazy. What the crap. I mean, I know I am old, but I hate making stupid mistakes and paying for them big time. Today's little incident makes me really wary of coming up short switch on bigger hits (35+)
i fell switch yesterday and it was really dumb cause i was doing and easy 180 off a little rock thing down a hill on the side of a catwalk. so i landed it and all was good then i liek caught an edge or something on the flat, it sucked.
I prefer falling switch on rails etc. b/c you just sort of tumble and take the tooth risk out of the equation, but falling switch on table is the worst, especially when doing a 180 or a zero, anything slow and smooth with a short and fast crash landing that leaves you wondering what the fuck just happened, I can't stop worrying about people landing on me after I fall, which is a lot.
i hate it when you do something big like a 180 and you just know your gonna fall the entire time and it seems like your in the air so long then you just eat shit
yeah, i did a 5 over prob like a 30-40 footer, went waayy to big, at about 360 i was waving the nuckle goodbye, almost landed in the flat switch, it was fun haha
this easter I was at Åre, sweden. It was about a week before the Jon Invitational so Jon and Sammy were up there. I introduced myself and said I was a big fan and all that yada yada. They were totaly cool and we hung out for a couple of hours.
THEN! We were suposed to do lines after eachother and I went first. I was sorta tired so I just went for Zeros on the two feature big jumps.
THEN! on the second jump I came up short and tried to reverse it in the air (we all know that's fucking hard and looks ridiculous) BUT... failed...
so I cased it and the bindning ripped and broke, resulting in the ski rolling under my back while I was sliding on it, later leaving big scars...
Next thing I know Sammy and Jon comes and does perfect fakie 7 criticals.... bollocks...
i overshot some jump yesterday and landed switch so fucken flat, and jammed my jaw into my knee. godamn it hurts so much. im so lucky all my teeth are intact. it feels like my jaw is dislocated or something.
