Alright, i'm starting to become a better skiier and doing more stuff off jumps/tables etc. Lately i've been trying to work on popping off the lip of the jump. Its worked sometimes but everytime I do this i get thrown way off balance so everything is really sketchy and i usually am too far back and land too far backseat and really fuck myself up. Any advice or suggestions?
what do you do when you pop? if you mean by ollying then you better have good timing or else you are gonna be back seat every time, otherwise get your weight more forward and press on the tongues of those boots and flex em good!
i would try to remember the "athletic position". You are at your most stable stance when you are fairly wide (shoulderish width for feet), knees bent, hands up/forward a bit, and dead centered over your feet. It is univeral in almost all sports and if you watch the good skiers take off and land (switch or normal) they usually are in that position. Many of them ski in that position too.
Whoever suggested watching someone do it, was right on. If you have some videos, watch carefully during the takeoff and landing.
Aside from that? Its mostly just practice practice practice.
