Your tails hook when trying to carve, less nose to load in the turn (less power in your turns). Tips more likely to dive in pow, much less stable at speeds.
If you ski park a lot it's sweet, but if you do the mountain more it sucks because they just can't ski like a normal-mounted ski will. They won't ski well at all in powder, but will kick ass going switch.
Bingo. I mean if you are a decent skiier you will have no problem skiing a center mounted ski anywhere on the mountain as long as you have sufficient length. However, the tails do like to wash out when carving. The tips do like to dive in on pow, and they do feel more squirrely underfoot.
dude i would centermount no matter what..my skis are mounted like suggestion on assassin mtx's and they are way to far back and i tried some of my friends centermounted skis and i can spin alot more straighter and it just feels better skiing wise for me.
is there a significant difference in the way the ski feels while carving when the bindings are mounted at core center? because i was thinking about getting some fujative 179's and mounting them at core center instead of true center. what are some of ur guys' opinions?
true center i think is a little bit back from core center im not sure but i love true center everywhere my next skis are getting true centered..i just feel so much more confident that way
if you already have a pair of ski's mounted at a possition you like, go for a center mount, that way you'll have some park/jib skis and some pow/skiing skis
This is so absolutely untrue. If you are going to be trying to do a slalom course on some center mounted park skis obviously yea they aren't gonna perform that well. But on any other type of terrain, they do not perform that badly. I whoop the shit out of basically everyone at my mountain on my center mounted scratches on the gnar, steeps or whatever. It is more about the skiier, less about the equipment. A good skier will probably really like a newschool mountain.
