you say in two words what may comprise the most original and well thought out post in the history of this website, nay, the internet, nay, the world.

cogradulations steezepatrol, you continue to be a huge swineherd.

and your town smells like pulp mill. which is bad.

Nanaimo doesn't smell like anything. It's whiter than SLC.

clearly youve never been downwind of one of the two mills there... theres a handfull of towns in BC that get pretty much ruined by those things. campbell river, quesnel, nanaimo... and some others ive never been to im sure.

my most lasting memory of that town is the horrid smell of those mills...

but as for polution and stuff... of course slc is more polluted... way bigger population, no ocean, and in a valley... all factor into the occaisional hazy day...

Here's the problem with the patriot act.

The laws in America do not reflect the will of the people. People, even good people, constantly break the law in America, from smoking weed to speeding to illegal fireworks. Every year laws get harsher and harsher. Since politicians continue to run the same "tough on crime" shit, and no one is going to speak up and say that giving life sentences to armed robbers and 15 years for possession of crack is a little ridiculous, its only going to get worse.

The patriot act would be alright if the government was a purely benevolent, uncorrupted entity just looking out for the good of the people. But a few individuals could easily abuse it. And since most people have some sort of illegal or embarassing secret to hide, unscrupulous government agents, if they had something against you, could do something like check the records on your computer to find some asian schoolgirls website you've been looking at, and threaten to make it public.

I just like how they named it the "PATRIOT" act, its kind of funny.

Now anyone who respects civil liberties is against being a patriot. Its like in 1984(the book), where they name everything the opposite of what it is...somebodys got to know what im sayin.
