yeah well idunno i was thinkin and it kinda pisses me off that everyones so pissed at them cos they sold out. and so everyones liek yeah they suck but i still like em ya know and idunno it just occured to me it doesnt seem fair. i dunno gimme a break its 3:25 on a school nite
yeah you're totally right. you've actually hung out with all 4 of the guys or at least talked to them and know they are all individual people who got together to make some fun pop punky music. pete and joe left their hardcore bands and then preceded to recruit a 2nd guitarist and pete met patrick the lead singer in a bookstore and he was added to the band. after a nice EP came a line up swtich where the old drummer and 2nd guitarist were kicked out and andy was put in. all of this like 4 years ago. then they made some funny dvds of their experience, from the little club shows like every local band in your town to their club and large venu success while managing to ALWAYS make an effort to sign autographs and actually talk with their fans before and after a show. they are all very cool guys. they will give you their damn cell phone number if you just ask normally instead of yelling like a bitch about how you love them. dont talk unless you actually can back up what youu are saying. they are 4 really fun guys and always are respectful as hell. they dont treat you like a fan if you dont ask for it.
pretty damn true kiddies, believe the hype. i interviewed pete at warped tour for a solid 20 minutes and there was never a sign of 'im too good for this shit' or 'are we done yet'...it was like 2 dudes just bullshitting about music and life, very very cool laid back guy. i still think their old stuff is better tho.
lame comment and you try to sound cool. how do they sell out? they make something that some company really likes and they get some serious airplay...would you stay as a garage band or go for the big bucks?
did aerosmith sell out cause they got big? what about ozzy?
their old stuff WAS better. hes right. id much rather listen to TTTYG over cork tree. that album was just really fun and easy to listen to. cork tree didnt live up to how good TTTYG was, but for me, that would be really hard. they've progresseed and changed alot in their style. its different. many people prefer their old sound. it IS a noticible difference. they didnt "sell out". i dont know who said that. island gives them a broader range of sales and lets them expand. but they are still part of fueld by ramen. selling out would kind of mean that they lost their connection to their fans and love of what they do, and are all about money. well they sure as hell didnt do that. they're great guys. its cool if someone says they like their music. music tastes varies from person to person. i am just rambing now.
when bands make it big, GOOD FOR THEM!!!! so stop being all, "geee whiz, theyre so fucking ghey, cause they have a lot of fans"
they make music, and they enjoy it and im sure they have gotten over liking/disliking music because of the whole scene and like/dislike music for what it sounds like, and im sure theyd be really happy if you would too.
like fallout boy if you like the music, hate fallout boy if you hate the music.
even when i was a retarded little junior high idiot i understood there was no such thing as selling out.
these bands have a chance
1)get their music out to a gazillion people.
2)make a living doing what they love.
i dont know why this is so hard for people to understand.
and whats weird is that people think if their sound changed they sold out. NOPE. their sound changed because they had a years of touring and living together to gain alot of maturity and talent.
