yea war really really does suck.......and america is really the one who makes it.......during the 90's we bombed iraq weekly.
and we've supplied Al Cada and Iraq with almost all of their weapons. including the weapons the Saadam used on his own people....AHhh America fuckign sucks.l

First off America doesn't always start wars you tard....lets see World War II....ahhh America was one of the last countries to enter, and if you are worried about people dieing take this into account, you can save 100 people in a building by telling the police that there is a bomb but the people that put it there will now kill 1 person every day, what would you do? one would think that if 'you' kicked mr hussein's ass the last time around, there wouldn't be the need for the war with iraq - pt II. that's just the way i see it....

also, many of the products and services that we base our lives around come care not of americans, but of the much harder working, still opressed neo-slaves that are your maids, tailors, restaurant worker, factory worker etc etc.

sweetcoz... that statement wasn't very smart. A lot of your restaurant workers are kids, I worked in a restaurant for for 2.5 years in highschool since I was 16. A lot of factory workers are people who don't go to college and laugh at education. All of those jobs are jobs taken up by people who didn't seek a higher education. These neo slaves are actually just stupid people, and people too young to have better jobs.

Okay, I like Andy's suggestion, some of you guys are really very dumb.

1. What Sweetcoz says is good, listen to him, he has brains, if you think he's a cock, you should go eat one.

2. America only entered World War II late because it dind't concern them in the slightest until the bombing of Pearl Harbour. And until that stage they were planning to enter anyway but were still contemplating which side to join. Japan thought they were moving towards the side of the allies so decided to take out as much of the Pacific fleet as they could so as to have an advantage.

3. SUPilot, you just successfully proved yourself again to be a totally incompotent fuckwit. Can't have freedom without war?? What the hell kind of dickwad statement is that?!? Freedom isn't the absense of war! It's the presence of justice.

4. Some of you guys are very very stupid and should go and sew your fingers together so you can't type.

i personally don't support going into war solely on the basis of oil.. the entire nation does not need that.

SU look to nepal for a country that went it's whole existance without war or conflict and experianced over all freedom. well, until the westerns came in to set up trading posts and screwed them over.

SweatCOZ or whatever your name is, I don't want to hear anyone say that people are stuck in blue collar jobs because they were never given the chance to succeed. There are always oppertunities to further yourself, get good grades and you can get mad bank for scholarships and the tech schools do give you a great education for very cheap. I'm sick and tired of free people complaning about not getting ahead, thats your job, it's your life and if you don't care about what happens to it can you tell me one person (aside from God) who does?

desert storm wasn't about removing sadaam and reforming iraq or whatever.. it was about getting iraq out of kuwait. the US succeeded in kicking iraq's ass out of kuwait, but we didn't go past the kuwaity borders.

in my opinion, iraq is a threat, but not a huge one, we really just want their oil.

the one phrase i hate more than any other is 'i heard'......dude i'm assuming you at least know what the draft is right? and you know how it works? the draft WOULD NEVER be reinstated unless there was an alien invasion etc on the world or soemthing. we dont fight wars with ground troops like we used to. not so much attrition. we are much more hitech and we understand that it is better to drop a surgical bomb on a stronghold than to send in troops to shoot everyone. 'i heard their gonna start up the draft again'....give me a break. show me the article. and it better not be from some opinionated blow my ass site....i wanna see facts.

Thanks Prins, it's true. I'm not talking about people who can't afford it, we're talking about people who are fucking lazy. People who drop out of highschool and stick themselves in bad situations. And if you are really that poor... do you know how much financial aid is available, it's ridiculous, you can get all kinds of aid and grants ESPECIALLY if you're that poor. Do you know easy it is for poor minorities to get full rides to universities if they merely do decent in school?

OK, I usually try to stay quiet during these arguments, but SUPilot, you are making me speak up. Are completely blind? Have you not noticed the thousands of Military GROUND troops that have been activated in the past couple of months? There is going to be a war. It is as simple as that, whether we like it or not. My brother-in-law is a Chemical Specialist in the Ranger Battalion, and from the shit that he told us of what might go down, I'm just thankful I live in the middle of the country.

i live right in the city (nyc) and i'm not worried....considering the fact that most people dont know that the new joint strike fighter (which my dad said will be put into service, along with the f-22 possibly, if we get into a serious war with korea etc...) has a laser pod installed, lol, instead of the traditional artillery cannon (aka machine gun).

where have you been SUpilot??? articles on reinstating the draft have been everywhere in the past week. 2 black representatives are planning on introducing legislation when congress reconvenes to reinstitute the draft. they want it to be fair and equal so every male of age has equal chance of going. they think it'll make the men of congress think twice about going to war if their own sons are gonna be drafted.

meh, the draft wont be reinstated in a 'war' such as one hat would could be facing. If it was introduced, the likelyhood of it passing is slim, so no worry about that.

Alright. From a purely skier perspective war sucks. Those poor people in parts of Europe can't ski on their mountains and go out and enjoy nature because land mines were littered all over the country side. Kids losing legs left and right just out trying to play and stumble on mines. This is why we should blow any country off the map that messes with us at all. If we are ever invaded the same could happen to us. So hit them first and hit them hard.

Do you know why there are so many articles about reinstituing the draft? Because it sells! People buy it. This all happened right after 9-11, people were scared of a draft then. A law where every male has an equal chance of being drafted? Are you kidding me. They wouldn't dare vote that into this economy. This isn't an industrial country anymore where you can simply send your wife to go do your job like in the past. College kids still won't have to go either.

What I could see happening is a slow movement towards a German or Israeli system, where every adult male has to put it some military or civil service time. Usually 2 years from after highschool until you are 20. But that would not be in the near future, and only if we have a couple wars go down for a while.

like I said, I don't see it passing, but if it did, college kids would definitely not be exempt. they changed the draft laws in 1973 to end the college deferment option

The reason I believe college kids would be exempt is that keeping them from a higher education hurts the economy again. And there are other complications, you have a kid who is a junior in college w/ all these student loans, I can't see the military halting that.
