since we are on the subject of rails here i was wondering if someone could give me advice on slidin small beginner rails since my hill just got 2 new ones, a flat trapeziod type and a raised uphill to drop. thanks for the help.

what hill is it, i live in rochester........and about the rails, just turn the full 90 degrees onto them then look at the end of the rail

Wide stance. Dont fall. Dont try the biggest one your first time (or do, depends how much your body is worth to ya)

what should i do when i am sliding on the rail? should i look down at the rail or straight ahead,also when i am doing a rail with a kink in it i have a tendancy to lean back too much and fall how could i fix this?

come up with the rail in between your legs on the approach, and then turn 90 and put most of your weight on the front ski, look at the end of the rail and slide it out

try to get low, wide stance and look at the end of the rail which really helps
What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

First of all, DO NOT TRY TO SLIDE RIGHT ONTO THE RAIL. YOU'LL FALL ON YOUR ASS. once you catch a little air (any amount is necessary as long as you can turn 90 degrees in that air), land on the rail with your bases of your skis flat, legs spread out. Focus on the end of the rail. Getting off is common sense. First learn flat rails, then learn downhill or uphill rails. Then you'll be ready for both elements of a kink rail. You will fall your first couple times.
