My new Karama pics

Well I picked em up from he shop tonight. My brand new Volkl Karma 177's with Rossi Axial 110's... mmmm... mmm... mm.

They're beautiful. I almost hate to beat em up on the slopes... almost :)

I get to ski on em at Schweitzer tomorrow, and I'll post a review of them when I get home.

they have a sort of japanese style to them.

sort of a rice paper looking topsheet with a rising sun on the tails.

and oriental style caligraphy for the karma writing.

How come yours have black bases? I thought Karmas usually have white bases.

yes, the top sheet is supposed to resemble rice paper and thats how rice paper looks.

Actually the black and white bases are available in all sizes. The whites are just a lot more common. I'd never seen black bases on a 177 until that pair that I bought. The other set of 177's they had at the shop were white based.

There appeared to be no difference in flex when comparing them in the shop, but I guess you never really know.

The shop owner made no mention of it too me though.
